Christmas Vacation Rolls On!!!

Rock is really enjoying his Christmas vacation, mostly because he gets so much more attention with Grandma and Grandpa around then he does with just boring ol' Mommy and Daddy. And like a true showman, he has risen to the challenge of entertaining and has performed masterfully. He's very versatile too, he has been able to use any prop that the crowds have given him. Like a dull waterbottle? Now its part of Rock's Adorablerama.

He liked having all but one (we missed Nick) of his aunts and uncles here last night while my siblings stopped on their way home. He showed Marissa this new trick that he is working on to break out on his Grandmas. He is pretty sure that it will blow them away! Be sure to pay attention to his face throughout the video, its part of his trick.

A lifeless broom? Now it's a prop in Rock's circus of adorableness.
Rock is well aware of how important his appearance is to the ladies, so he was trying out some new hairdos with Grandma Lisa. It looks like he found one that he liked.
He calls this face 'Magnum'

Christmas!!!!

Rock had heard all about this awesome thing called Christmas, but he wasn't sure he wanted to buy into the hype. He had been tricked before, like when Dad tried to breastfeed him again. So you can't blame him for being a little skeptical when people promise awesomeness. But boy, he sure loved Christmas!! Just look at his face!
We got to have two Christmases this year, with the England's down in California and the Judds up in Medford. The England Christmas was a little rushed, so as soon as he opened his presents they got put into a bag for the trip to Oregon. But since he is forgetful it'll be like three Christmases when we get home and he sees them all again! One of the coolest gifts he got from Grammy and Grappy was a fire breathing dragon for a pet. He was super stoked! When we get back to Iowa he's going to fly the dragon around town and harrass the villagers. It will be awesome! He also got to enjoy a delicious raspberry filled powdered donut! Sweet, sweet Hostess, why don't you sell these in the midwest?

Rock started waking up at 2:15am to open presents, but Mom wasn't having any of that. So finally he got me out of bed at 6am and together we checked out the loot that Oregon Santa brought. He even started opening some presents, whether they were his or not.
His favorite part of opening presents? Eating the wrapping paper.

Rock is definitely a boy, because from both families he got all sorts of balls, bats, trucks and golf clubs. It's going to take a while for him to use the clubs, since they are taller than he is and he tries to eat the balls.

To help his eye hand cordination he also got a little ball-popper-upper thingie.

SANTA!!!!!!!!!!!

We were all minding our own business last night when we were interrupted by SANTA!!!!! Rock and the other kids were straight stoked about getting to meet the Jolly Ol' Elf and make their last wishes known right before D-Day. Rock was pretty excited to meet the big guy since he had heard so much about him.
Rock was intimidated by St. Nick, since he had only seen him on the TV and in posters. He couldn't believe that he was in the same room as Santa.
Rock sat on Santa's lap with some help from his mom. Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas, and Rock said "haven't you been getting the Christmas letters that I put on the blog?"
Santa told Rock he doesn't check the blog, and Rock just about lost it. All that hard work to illustrate what he wanted for Christmas gone down the tube just like that!
"You don't smell like Santa! You smell like beef and cheese! You sit on a thrown of lies!"
Rock had enough of this Santa Claus, so he went up the stairs to find Grandpa Dave. He'll set Santa straight. But where did Grandpa go?

Merry Christmas Everybody!!!!!!!!

Medford Christmas!!

So little Rock was minding his own business down in California when DeAndra got word from her parents that her brother Derek was stranded at LAX. He was trying to get home to Medford from his mission in the Philippines when he fell victim to Seattle's awesome plan for dealing with snow. Seems that his plane wasn't going to leave LA before Christmas unless someone could go pick him up. DeAndra was content to let Derek share Christmas with the wonderful Zoroastrianists he met at the airport, but I didn't think that the prophet Zoroaster even celebrated Christmas so we decided to go get him. We all drove up to Medford yesterday so that the Judds could see their missionary. Now Rock has another house to roam around in and terrorize all the stuffed animals. Not to mention all the presents that he gets to open before Christmas.

One thing that Grammy Rae discovered about Rock is that he loves bananas. Once he got to Grandma and Grandpa Judds he made sure everybody understood where he stands on the banana issue.

California Christmas!!

This is what Grandma said she saw when Rock showed up for Christmas. FYI-Thats not the sun...yeah, he's that awesome.

The weather is Iowa right now is being reported as -3*F (that's like -143C) with a high of 7. Luckily we made it out just in time and are enjoying the beautiful town of Solvang, Ca. It's so pretty you almost don't notice the hippie freaks driving their Prius around town.

We showed up Friday night in Santa Maria after a wonderfully smooth and stressfree trip that involved a miss connection, a trans-airport sprint, another sprint down the terminal and then an hour-long wait in line at LAX for a new boarding pass since the stressed out ticket lady wouldn't give our first ones back. Yeah, nobody stressed out on that one. Nobody.

The little guy is getting super-duper spoiled. Here are pictures of his yummy breakfast this morning.

Whitni likes ponies. She wanted one for Christmas, but this is as close as she'll get.

Sleepy Rock

Rock has a cute little habit when it comes to sleeping. The little guy will run wild all day long and then all of a sudden he face plants into the couch and is out.

We put the little guy to bed in the evenings without problems, but once he wakes up and finds out that he is alone he gets upset that his awesomeness is being wasted on stuffed animals. Of course he yells and cries and screams until we come grab him. We've tried letting him scream all he wants until he falls asleep, but the little guy is persistent. In case you forgot, here is a refresher course on his persistenceness.

He is starting to take little steps around the house. Not many, but enough to get us excited.
