Black eyes and Living Room Drills

The black eye developed nicely. Poor DeA is getting looks at the store or at games of "I hope you hit him back".
I went to Okanogan to watch Rock while DeA got to stay home and watch Jens also play Okanogan (I can't wait until those cheaters leave the league). Rock smoked a bomb into the right CF gap.
"I look like a dog named Spot"
We had a great little fire burning legal stuff, all legal stuff.
"Why does everyone keep looking at me and taking pictures of me?"
Ryker tried to stay up to watch double OT hockey, but he didn't make it to the end.
She still stunning
She went from "no ball in the house" to being the one balling out in the house.

The colors really are pretty.
DeA was worried that she didn't have any pictures of Rock and Jens together, so she tried to get them to stand by each other.
We think they love each other.
Maybe

Blue eyes, black eyes, we love DeA's eyes

We sang to Jens at Family Dinner, DeA made a delicious red velvet cake.
Sunday evening was beautiful, and the kids broke out in a softball game.
Leo drove by, but didn't want to play.
Look how beautiful my Schnoogies looks in the blossoms.

It was all fun and games (literally, it was a lot of fun) until poor DeA fouled a ball into her own face.

Her fair Nordic skin showed the bruising right away.
By the next morning it was a lovely shade of eye shadow.
The colors were quite stunning with DeA's features and pretty eyes.
I was able to skip out of work early and watch Jens play Bridgeport. She had a few hits and made a nice catch in the field.

More ball

Jens followed up her Bridgeport DH with a single in Waterville the next day. It was the prettiest I have ever seen it up there, no wind or dust and everything was green. It was quite deceptive. Jens played 1b and smoked two balls batting.
DeA looks good in hats.
The battle against the sun is very real.
We had pizza at this good little spot next to the park. Waterville really put on a great first impression for DeA, the next time we come for like volleyball in October she will see the real town.
Zero wind up on the plateau, but 50mph back at home. Whatevs.
DeA committed to making cookies for every softball game as a way to bribe Farnsworth into coaching. For Jens' birthday weekend, they made dirt messerts.

Trying to watch both games from CF Narnia can be a little challenging, but we are still 200ft closer than Nama Rae. She said that she saw Rock coming up to bat and had flashbacks thinking that it was me. It didn't think Rock was built that much like me, but then realized that he is the exact same height and weight as I was my senior year, so, poor Rock.
The best part of softball/baseball season is definitely DeA in hats. 😍

DeA vs. the Mean Girls

Rock had a single game up in Oroville. He played well and the high socks looked sharp while he manned third base. We enjoyed the game from the bleachers, and eventually some Oroville girls sat behind us. After a bit, one of them said "the third baseman is built like a girl" and they kept talking about that. DeA started getting agitated, and I tried to tell her that they are making fun of Oroville girls, not Rock, but she was not happy that they were talking about Rock that way.
I thought things had calmed down by the time Rock came up to bat, but no, the girls had to say something again. Before I knew what was happening, DeA was spun around and telling the girls that they were being rude and to stop talking. They gave her a little resistance, but stopped talking about any Manson players after that. I wondered if I would have been safer with Dad out in left field.
By the time we got to KFC/Taco Bell, things had calmed down and the profanities had stopped flowing from DeA's lips.
Thankfully the next night was much more peaceful and calm.
We had double doubleheaders in Liberty Bell. Jens started both games and got squeezed so much by the ump that I'm surprised she isn't a diamond. Hampa Dale could not abide the blatant home-town umping and got a special visit from a LB event staff, but he was not wrong in his opinions. Some people just can't handle the truth.
Rock has been trying to get DeA up in the plane with him, and it finally worked out. Ryker went as her emotional support son.
It was a good lesson in trust for DeA, knowing that she could not do a thing if Rock needed help.
Doesn't she look so confident?
Yes, she definitely seems to be doing well not having any control over the situation

Of course it was a great flight and Rock got them home safe and sound.
Just ignore the barf bag in her hand.

Jensley had a double header against Bridgport and balled out. She threw strikes
And hit a dinger! It was the first Manson home run over the fence in the history of the fence, and the first home run of any kind by a Manson girl in years.
Luckily we were able to keep the ball.
It was a battle for DeA to keep the sun off of her delicate Norwegian skin.

Hopefully the first of many!
The school did a great little write up on the DH and her accomplishments.
Now we won't accidentally use the ball for practice.
