Rock has really enjoyed his trip so far. He's spent lots of time with family and he even got to see the beach for the first time! We spent the night in Brookings and so he got to walk the beach and watch people try to start a beach fire with wet driftwood. And I'm not going to go into details, but it seems that he's trying to send us the message that Grey Poupon is his favorite condiment right now. In the car to go to sleep he requests that Grandma and everyone else sing him lullabies, but he is a little upset that I can't remember the words to Grandma Helen's old drinking songs.
Here's Rock with Gma Lisa on the Pier, just being beach people.
One big development this week is that Rock has learned to enjoy solid foods. He is a huge fan of rice cereal, and can't understand why he hasn't been eating this all along.

West Coast Rock
I finally made it out here to join DeAndra and Rock. I got to the airport at 5:30am for my seven o'clock flight, only to discover that the flight was canceled due to weather. If you check weather.com and look in the almanac, you will see that it was 65*F and partly sunny. I guess they didn't say it was canceled due to poor weather, for all I know the pilot was taking advantage of the weather to fish for some yummy catfish out of the Mississippi. I hope he gets clawed all over from the catfish, because I didn't take off until almost noon. But I finally made it and now I get to relax. Rock is doing great and still is loving all the attention. For Father's day he said he had all these great big plans, but all he gave me was a very heavy diaper. Very heavy.
Here's Rock trying to explain to Mommy why the M's stink so bad. See, even a baby can understand it, why can't the guys that are in charge in Seattle?

Rock is on his way!!
As I'm writing this DeAndra and Rock are in the air somewhere between Minnesota and Seattle. I'm sure there's a way to make his head move on the map accordingly, but you all get the picture. And by the time most of you read this he will hopefully be in Medford hanging with the Judd's while DeAndra sleeps. She has had a relaxing day running through airports and having flights cancelled due to weather. You'd think pilots in the midwest would be used to flying in thunderstorms. Pansies.

Hot Rock!!
Rock is getting excited for his trip to Oregon/Washington in two days. He went with DeAndra to the store to get snacks for their trip, but apparently they were 'practice' snacks because they are already gone. He's all excited to show off his swollen gums and prolific drool to Gma Lisa and Gpa Dave. After a couple of weeks there we will go up to Washington for a couple of weeks, so hopefully most of the families will get to see him. DeAndra finally cashed in her Mother's Day gift and got her hair done. She cut it shorter than she has cut it before, but it sure looks good. She's still wasting a bunch of shampoo and conditioner because she isn't used to having so little hair. It's alright until I try to get into the shower unprepared for the all the goop on the floor.
She wanted to show off her new hair, but didn't want it to look obvious. So here she is with Rock, acting 'casual'.
He has the cutest laugh ever.
