Busy, Busy October

We went to La Brisa to celebrate cleaning the church (feels like we do it about once a month lately). Ryker caught me not paying attention and ordered the carne asada platter. At least he's proud of himself.
Jensley's window is coming along nicely.
We visited our former neighbor Marie. She has an old school TV that fascinated Ryker.
Leo came to the office with me and Sara put a Seahawks jersey on him to celebrate the season.
You can tell from his face that he wasn't a fan. He wouldn't walk around while wearing it.
Football has been going well, but it is wearing out the boys.
General Conference means donuts, at least to the kids. DeA hates this tradition, because she hates the mess and noise and mess and clatter.
The kids love it though, I guess that's the important thing.
Glazing is always their preferred job.
Meanwhile, Rock and DeA enjoy conference by trying to sleep on the couch while pretending to pay attention.
The boys wanted to help Gpa with apple harvest, but didn't want to share the front seat in the truck.
DeA loves explaining to people touring the house why they need to take their shoes off now, just to set the precedent for when the house is done.
Jens wanted to visit Grandpa Leo and Grandma Helen's grave for FHE.
We brought them apples and I told stories about them to the kids.
The school knows how busy we are this time of year, and that is why they scheduled things like crazy hair day now.
I guess crazy is the right word for this.
Rock complains that we are always asking him to clean up his stuff from the living room. And yet, he always seems to think the living room is his staging area.
The boys have been having fun with football, even if some times it's a bit of a chore to get them to games and practices.
Rock has been playing linebacker this year. He enjoys shooting the gaps and making plays.
Ryker came home after a physical game and said he was going to take a break. He slept for over an hour, sat up and told me he was just resting his eyes, then laid back down.
He woke up refreshed and ready to go another hour later.
 Harvest is off and running.
Jensley is losing teeth like crazy. She is going to be a gummy Jens here soon.
Grandma and Grandpa built a brand new house with lots of comfortable spaces. This is where Jens decides to spend her time.

County Fair

Every year the kids love our tradition of smelling the stinky animals and the sawdust soaking up the puke by the rides.

It was a hot, almost muggy day. It was nice to sit around and drink lemonade.
The kids loved the cotton candy panda bears.
At least, I think that is a panda bear.
Ryker desperately tried to beat a few carnival games.
Jens and Rock worked really had to win a banana unicorn abomination.
Ryker eventually did win a racoon.
No trip to the fair would be complete without a stop at Country Boys for BBQ. Ryker gets every last big of meat off of the bone.
Jensley likes the curly potato fries.
Ryker refused to get his hair cut, but eventually he caved to Gpa. Of course he wasn't happy with the final result, it was too short and not mohawky enough.
The house is looking more and more like a house.
We have to use a ladder because of the no-stairs situation. That didn't stop Mom.
One day this will be our living room. Right now it's a place where we stare at the view and imagine our future.

On the Catwalk, House Stuff, First Day of School, and Football!

They put up our living room catwalk! That is a big deal, because I think the only reason that DeA wanted to build this house was the catwalk.

Rock really wanted to get up and walk on it.
The boys don't quit, and they found a ladder and got themselves up on the catwalk.
DeA was not super happy that they were up there, but she did keep asking them to describe what work had been done up there.
Ryker finally wised up and took the phone to take pictures for her.
She wasn't happy with Ryker's photography skills. She finally climbed up herself to see the progress.
We took an important trip to Wenatchee to look for house stuff. The boys found the massaging recliners for the living room. They each cost more than my first car.

We stopped at an old fashioned soda fountain. DeA was surprised that I knew about it. She wasn't happy when I explained that a date had brought me here when I was in high school. Now she never wants to go back to that stupid place.

Here's Ryker with a dot of milkshake on his nose.
Jens' hot fudge sundae was pretty special.
 Rock was dressed to impress.
Jens loves sitting in front of the new windows and watching the sunsets.
I love sitting and staring at DeA.
DeA called me all excited because the roof trusses were delivered...but they were delivered to the house where we live now. The one that's already built. The one that has a roof. Eventually everyone figure out where to go and we watched them get unloaded.
They do cool mud bog races above Singleton Park. The kids were pretty impressed with the dirty trucks.

Here is the #7 England Chiropractic truck with Alan. It got really dirty.

Little football has begun. DeA hates it because it takes up all our time, but soon these little guys will be too old and we will miss it. At least that's what people tell me.

 Roof trusses!
I think the builder realized that we had been climbing up on the catwalk, so they installed temporary (at least I hope) railings.
The kids were super stoked for the first day of school. DeA was even more excited. You can't see her because she was in the house crying from joy for the quiet and alone time that awaited her.
Leo finally figure out how to get into the house, and DeA goes and leaves him for the outside. Poor guy can't catch a break.
 Jens is a stylin' machine.
