Post-trip Recovery

Ryker's YouTube channel has its first sponsor, numakers. That's a pretty big deal.
He celebrated by getting put in the penalty box at the house game for tripping.
DeAndra the pretty hockey mom.
Stake Conference included an early youth session. Travis wanted to make them pancakes and the kids ate a ton.
Javi got the pilot the correct gear handle the bi-planes or the doghouse.

Sofia the twerp (unless she's with Nama or her mom)
We made cider at the Cider Press from the combined activity this month. Jens was thrilled.

Jens made quite a few faces.

I don't know what story DeA is telling, but I'm enjoying her excitement for it.

DeA finally pulled the trigger on a full-length puffy coat, she looks all cozy and warm.

Trip to Remember for All the Wrong Reasons

Derek talked me into signing up for a lifting competition in Mesa. Sure sounds great and that nothing could go wrong, right? Look at the kids at the airport, so full of hope and excitement.

Even DeA was excited to see her family and be in the warmth.

We showed up on Thursday, and Friday morning Derek and I weighed in. Then the girls got their eyebrows did and the boys went golfing. We definitely picked the better activity.

Lil' Brixton ran out of gas by the 18th hole, but I think he still had fun.

Schnoogies was a little worried that the Mexican eye brow lady might have tinted her brows a little too much. I told her is was a compliment because she had accepted DeA into her culture. She did not laugh.

Personally, I think they look perfect.

Friday night is about when my trip took a turn to the negative. I had back aches and stiffness that turned into full blown body aches and crap. I couldn't compete, but Derek still was able to. Ryker was very excited.
DeA called me desperate from GNC because she was looking for Derek's preferred pre-workout, Total War. They didn't have what he was looking for, so she got the next best thing she could find and a fancy new shaker bottle. Once she got back to the gym she noticed this cooler:
Greyson loved the gym and showing off his cool cruiser.
Sunday was full of little walks with Greyson and Brixton, he loved being mobile and independent.
I think he's had a few picture taken of him in his life, because as soon as I pointed the phone at him he stopped to smile and pose.

By Sunday evening I was feeling somewhat better, to the point that I wanted to go on walks.
Monday was a fun day, we loaded the kids up to run to the store and to get lunch.
DeA did a workout with her new favorite workout buddy.
Lindsey's boys have birthdays close together, so we went to this pizza place with a giant old organ.
DeA loved that the salad bar provided protective gloves.
These poor little guys get no attention.
We capped off the night at the roller rink for old school fun.
The hockey boys were excited to show off their skills and impress the ladies.

Schnoogies definitely impresses me.

Brixton was rocking the butt pads and mohawk helmet, he made the hockey guys envious.
Showing their sick tricks.
I'm not sure what trick this is.
Greyson went round and round and finally checked out for a bit.
I'm not sure why we didn't cut into the Dr Seuss cake, but it did not survive waiting in the car.
And, that was about the end of the fun part of the trip. Monday night at 2am, Jensley began to barf her guts out for the next eight hours or so. We all tried to recover by sitting in the Arizona sunshine.

We were hoping that it was just some food poisoning or something and that we would be able to make our 9am flight Wednesday morning. Unfortunately, Ryker and Rock had other plans and spent all Tuesday night throwing up. It was a lot of fun trying to figure out flights and the rental car at 4am before everything opened for the day.

It was relaxing to cuddle with DeA, who was also sick but thankfully not throwing up.
Papa Dave took the smart way out and went golfing for seven hours to try and avoid the sickness.
Jens had been so excited to attend the state volleyball tournament, but she still got to watch them bring home the trophy for a second straight season.
Sleeping Schnoogies.
So, yeah, um, the trip was great, thank you for asking. No, we are never going on another vacation again.
