Cousins Everywhere

It's hard being the Luca and having to entertain everyone everyday.
It's easier being the Sofia and just being you.
I do not know what Hudson is planning
But it's going to be something

DeA likes to sit on the front porch in our new chairs because she likes being in the 90+ degree heat and pretend like it isn't hot.
We did a teachers quorum activity at our house and made smores and roasted hot dogs. In retrospect, doing a campfire in 100 degree heat might have been a poor idea.
Luca and Sofia definitely didn't mind it.
Leo liked the running hose that I had close just in case, and with six 13-14 year-olds just in case is always likely.
This is the kind of thing that Ryker is printing now.
Apparently it makes the ladies all upons.
Rock had Schnoogies and I help with drills before baseball camp.
She was a very pretty and helpful helper.
The nights are still pretty windy, but it is nice sitting outside anyway.

DeA told her that her ice cream was dripping. What a mean aunt.
Ryker's bedroom continues its conversion into a shop.

A Weekend in Spokane

Lil' Funzee spent about a week complaining of intermittent pain in her abdomen. We hoped that she was constipated or something, and she seemed to feel better when stuff moved. Lindsea sent a text asking if we noticed that her eyes were yellowing, and that made us pay much closer attention to her symptoms. Rissa was happy to talk about bowel movements and to listen to her bowels. Thursday afternoon we decided that jaundice was the time to go to the ER.
She got hooked up with some good saline solution and had her blood drawn.
We waited around in the comfortable ER room, except DeA thought it was cold so they shared a giant blanket.
Her numbers were "significantly" high. After seeing her chart, the normal high is 78 and she was at 9479, and they called an ambulance to take her to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital.
She got all strapped in and ready for her fun joyride.

DeA got to ride shotgun while I tried to run to WalMart to get them snacks and then went home to grab toothbrushes and other things I could quickly think of grabbing.
They got to the hospital around 9:30pm, and I rolled in a little after 10:30. They stored her in an ER room until her spot on the floor opened up.
We tried sleeping on the chairs and it was not great.
She wasn't allowed anything except two ice chips. Literally two ice chips.
At 2:30am the quirkiest older lady in scrubs opened the door and said that she was there to transport Jens to her room. She refused any help and hit every chair, trashcan and wall corner on the way but was a spot of joy. Her room was ready for her with a stuffed animal, a blanket, and a pillowcase.
Family and friends made sure that she felt loved.
Javi made sure she knew what she looks like with jaundice.
After what felt like too long, she finally had a scope with the GI doc.
She was pretty chill and happy to get to eat and drink again. She went almost 40 hours without anything but an IV bag.
No shower, no getting her hair did, no change of clothes and she still looks hot as a tamale.
She was pretty loopy when she got back to the room, but the orderly still asked if she felt like walking which felt like maybe not a great idea.
She was excited to take a shower, and the nurse used a diaper to help keep her IV site dry.

After all of that, she was so excited to go home on Saturday and the important thing was she felt pain free and ready to volleyball.
