Once upon a time, in a land far, far away from Grandmas and Grandpas, there lived a little hero named Rock. Rock was the bravest and bestest hero in all the land.
All was happy in the land of Rock. He had all the toys a little boy could possibly play with (thanks for the ball popper Grandma Lisa!) and a pet dragon named Rufus. But then one day there arose a problem in the kitchen. Little Rock wanted to run in and help, but someone tried to restrain him!
So he quickly buttered up the queen of The Land of Rock to garner permission to enter into the forbidden kitchen. How could she say no to him?
Rock surveyed the scene, and to his dismay he discovered that the mystical land under the sink was blocked off my a stupid step thing.

More Rock Madness!!
Its getting harder and harder to document Lil' Rock with just pictures. He just doesn't stop moving enough to let the camera capture his total essence. We'll start with a few of the rare pictures that we have snapped of him, then we'll move on to some 'talkies'.
Rock loves it when somebody turns on the treadmill, mostly because he can't reach the controls and do his workout unless they do it for him.
Rock knows that you can't rely solely on cardio workouts, you have to do core strengthening as well. He thinks he's found a fun, effective workout that he can do for the rest of his life, but Marissa's not so sure.
Even though he has a smooth complexion and doesn't obsess over Magic Cards, Rock still loves music. At church on Sunday he loves to help lead the music and waves his arm in air as soon as he hears the organ. He also loves to sing, and he's lucky that he has his mother's singing ability and not his dad's.
He likes to sing, but he doesn't always understand how much allegre, vibrato and fatoperaladyo is appropriate.

Another Delayed Christmas Miracle!!
As some of you may remember, we were able to enjoy a great Christmas season with both sets of Grandparents. Christmas was awesome and Rock was overwhelmed with all his fantastic presents. Now, thanks to Rock's terrible memory and Northwest Airline's asinine baggage policies, Rock gets to enjoy his Christmas all over again. Grandma Lisa has been nice enough to send Rock's presents in the mail that we couldn't bring with us. We've been getting them in waves, and then we space out when we give them to Rock. If we're lucky we can stretch this out a little longer and pass off some of Rock's Christmas gifts as Birthday gifts! If he gets used to it now, he won't complain when he is 12 and we just go through the motions getting him birthday presents. Grammy Rae got Rock this cool book shelf that allows you to see the front of the books. Thanks Grammy Rae!
Rock really loves his new bookshelf, but he still thinks that it is his new workout equipment.

Random Rockness
Our house seems to be pulling out of our battle with SARS or Bird Flu or whatever it is that we've had this past week. Rock is back to his chipper, attention starved self and is making life cuter by the minute. He loves to wonder around the house with Rissa's Wii controller, and to make Rissa's life interesting he will hide it around the house. He also plays this game with TV remotes and car keys. At least he hasn't found the toilet as a hiding place yet.
Since it has been so frigid cold here lately we have been sleeping in footie pajamas. Well, only Rock has footie pajamas since I don't like the flannel on my skin and DeA finds that she has 'timing' issues trying to unzip all the way in the middle of the night. DeA has been keeping him cute by puting him in pjs from Grandma Lisa, Thanks Grandma!
Rock likes to talk. Its quickly becoming one of his favorite things to do. Here is a sneak preview of his recent one on one interview with DeAndra. Enjoy the insights he provides into his life.

The Legend of Rock
The England homestead has been taken under siege this past week by a terrible sore throat and cough. DeAndra claims that I'm the only one 'under siege' by this little tickle in my throat and that I need to grow a pair. She's so nurturing...well, at least to Rock she is, and these pictures are proof.
Rock was being a little namby pamby the other day and so DeAndra gave him ice cream. She always says that ice cream soothes the soul. Except Maggie Moo's ice cream, she's mad at them right now and so they only prick the soul with prickers.
Rock was practicing his WWF moves the other day in the living room. I can't tell if he won or not.

We are back in business!!
Grappy Dale and Marissa arrived here on Thursday with the battery charger for the camera!! It was nice of them to drive all the way out here just to deliver the charger, and we appreciate it. Dad flew out this morning and left Marissa behind for a couple of months. Rock likes the extra attention that Marissa gives him, he likes the attention that three people give way more than just two people.
We had quite a fight with the weather this last week, hitting a Quad City record low temp of -29 degrees, and that doesn't even count the windchill factor. It was wicked cold and DeAndra was a little hesitant to let her baby become a Rock-cicle, so he didn't leave the house for a couple of days. She finally pulled out this snow suit thing from when he was younger and let him try it on. Apparently it was a little to snug around his 'package' and he dind't like it one bit.
Dad and Rissa also brought some awesome Washington Apples for our enjoyment. Rock really likes gnawing on the juicy goodness.
When we got back from Chicago today we found that Rock's Dragon friend had arrived!! He had a good time getting reacquainted with his pal and together they mapped out their strategy for air raids over the villagers.
"You see, Dragon, you and I are going to be friends, right? You's gonna burn the villages and I'm gonna get to ride you, you see?"
Another reason why Rock is excited for Marissa to be here is that she brought her Nintendo Wii. He decided that his favorite new thing is dominating Mario Kart, but he still needs to work on his controller etiquette.
