During the first two weeks in the new house we had a routine, I would get ready for work, DeA would check the rats from the window, and Rock would grab my trusty Ruger 10/22. I'd take the rat to the dirt and cap it. One day I was running late so Rock did the dirty work.
Jens likes to take more of a sniper approach at the rats. She's turning into Annie Oakley.
We had some big piles of old grease wood that needed burned, but the construction outhouse was in the way. Now that it is gone, we were able to burn that mother down.
It was a perfect night for an inferno.
Speaking of inferno, check out this smoke show!
I call this "Lazy Dog on a Lazy Evening"
Rats!
Mom has been doing these cute little Youtube videos for her primary class. The kids made her pupped into a hair piece.
Did I mention that we had two big piles of grease wood? Because we did. That meant two fires in two nights.
Some neighbors called the fire department, but thankfully Chief Arnold could see our house from his front window and didn't even get out of his chair. Thanks to the helpers we had it under control.
Ryker made this collage on my phone and begged me to use it, so here it is.
The weather has been perfect for afternoon walks with the cousins.
Jens loves picking wildflowers and sharing them with DeA.
The front porch is starting to look like kids live here. Good.
The back deck view is pretty peaceful.
New house, same sleeping arrangements.
Jens is the best. All the comfy, cozy places in the house and she hangs out on the stairs.
DeA always said that the reason she doesn't make cinnamon rolls is because her kitchen wasn't right for it. Now that she has her kitchen right she made some (also, the kids constantly remind her that she never makes cinnamon rolls anymore).
We kept our Memorial Day tradition of leaving apples at our grandparents' graves.
The kids found their Great-Grandpa Leo and Great-Grandma Helen and their Great-Great-Grandpa and Grandma Fort,
