Ryker loves to fish. I like to fish, but I don't love to fish. He loves walking up at 5am to go fish. I do not like that at all, but luckily his Grandpa loves his grandson enough to take him down and sign him up for the fishing derby.
He caught a beautiful rainbow within five minutes of getting to the dock, and then had no bites for the next six hours.
At least it was a beautiful day.
And any time spent with Grandpa is good time.
Rock and Jens wanted to go to the baseball field to take grounders and hit. There were some down times while trying to figure out the machine and Jens got tired.
It was fun to have DeA help with drills.
Leo came to watch videos, but got hot sitting in the van.
We capped off the fun day with lunch at Green Dot
We spend the rest of the afternoon hanging out with Nick and Emily's girls and the rugrats.
Cambri was the official put-seeds-in-the-ground person.
Part of fishing is eating the fish. Ryker wanted to filet it, but the trout just wasn't big enough.
Of course Grandpa had some bacon grease laying around, so we pan fried with with Leo's supervision...at least until an oil splatter sent him running.
Ryker was just a little hesitant on his first bite...
But he liked it. At least he said he did. He was pretty anxious to share it with whoever was around, so we will see if he wants to eat his catch next time.
Baby Harlow loves to stare you down without blinking. It's okay though, she's pretty cute.
This might surprise you, but we hit some more baseballs.
And we burned some old trees and brush.
The torch was one thing, the big chainsaw was just showing off.
It was a pretty great evening.
