Potty Training Rock

DeAndra is getting a little tired of this whole diaper routine. She is pretty sure that Rock is taking advantage of this whole situation, and she suspects that he is sneaking extra fiber in his diet to make sure he is more prolific. So, she purchased one of those special training toilets and let Rock have at it. Let's just say that it didn't go as well as planned.

Good thing that this happened before he figured out how to use it, or before we let him try an outhouse.
"What you lookin' at?"

Rock's Busy Day

Rock continues to dominate the day, and he does this by following one simple rule: Stay busy. You have to keep going, even if your Mommy and Daddy try to put you in your stupid crib that you hate so much. What does he do all day? Well, the first thing he does is go through his Taekwondo routine.
Rock also helps out by rummaging through all drawers and cupboards that are below three feet from the ground. He scatters everything in those things all over the floor, that way we never forget what we have.
I will let you guess what he does next. I'll give you a hint, he alternated between this pose and a half sitting pose for about twenty minutes and his face got red.
Rock likes to spend time by the window, so that the animals in the backyard don't forget him. He might need them to complete his overthrow of the house...then all the chocolate milk will be his!
Today he spent some time reminiscing in his old bassinet, again. He sure loves the thing for somebody that cried like a little baby a year ago when he was placed in it.
He looks like a giant in there, doesn't he? Especially when you compare him to this.

After all that busy work, Rock knows that the most important thing he can do is to get his awesome sleep. What is awesome sleep? It's kind of like beauty sleep for girls, except it helps recharge his awesomeness.
The other day my family physician, Dr. R. Orie Browne, noticed that I was looking a little sickly. He said that my appearance wasn't what he liked, and so he suggested that I let him give me a script for something to help me get back to where I should be. I capitulated to his suggestions and let him give me the prescription. I am pretty excited to begin my medication and follow his orders. By the way, I recommend this prescription to anybody with my condition. I don't use the word miracle very often, but this is a miracle.

Now if only I had a cool set of clubs to really follow through with my treatment plan...

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Rock wants to wish all the mothers in his life a happy Mother's Day!! His gift to you, Grandmas and great-grandmas and Mommy, is a nice warm, moist Huggy. Love you!

DeAndra had to go to meetings this morning, so Rock and I started playing at 6:30. I fed Rock some delicious homemade bread and jam from Jacque (thanks Jacque!) and then some nice, healthy bananas. But my breakfast didn't satisfy him, so he was pretty happy when DeAndra came home with some delicious blueberry muffins. Muffins for breakfast? That's like cake in disguise!

Today Dean-o brought back Rock's old bassinette that they were borrowing. Rock hated the thing when he was little, but now he sure seems to enjoy it. I think he imagines that it is an '09 Ford Mustang GT, or a Lambergotti Fasterosa.

Rock had been working on some of his 'man skills' like channel surfing. He is getting pretty good at it.

After cruising around in his old crib, Rock decided to finish his workout video "Using Working Outs to Hide from Chores".
Step 1: Act like you are getting on the treadmill.
Step 2: Take a nap and be lazy behind the treadmill where they can't see you.

Conejitos de la Resistencia!

Deep in the jungles of our unmowed backyard, a resistance was forming. It seems as if the little backyard animals liked having the unkempt vegetation and limitless resources. They liked their little slice of home. One of the sentinels made contact with one of the humans, and turned him against the rest of the humans. How could someone fall for their plan and become a traitor? Promises of chocolate milk. Rock is a sucker for chocolate milk, and he's a traitor!
The little Fuzzies of the Rebellion caught Rock at just the right time. As it turns out, the little guy wasn't minding his parents, and so his ration of chocolate milk was cut off. Rock was furious, and suceptible to their filthy lies.
Their plan was diabolical; by using Rock to distract and keep the older humans busy, they could keep the backyard unmowed and free. Rock did an admirable job looking cute and getting Daddy Human to play with him.

But the rebellion was worried that Rock couldn't keep both humans busy, and while Mommy Human was feeding Rock, Daddy human snuck out to clean the backyard and reclaim the territory. But they were prepared, and had a sneak attack hiding inside the mower bag.
The ambush worked on Mommy human, who jumped, waved her arms and ran to hide in the bathroom on the toilet. It was funny enough that Daddy human almost dropped the mower bag on Rock while laughing.
Rock refused to break under interrogations. He stood strong and refused to rat out his rat-like comrades. His defiance even included recruiting other operatives for their resistance.
"Pss...Hey Mommy, I can get you a position of power in the new government. Help me get rid of the big guy and we can rule the Fuzzies!"
Finally, Rock was caught. Daddy human finally was able to catch him in his web of lies, and Rock completely spilled his sippy cup.
"Hey, Mom. Remember that offer I made to you over by the couch? Think you want to accept that now and spring me out of here? C'mon...Please!"
Rock was sentenced to a night in his crib, but thanks to a softy judge he was able to enjoy a delicious meal first.

Daddy human argued for a change of venue, since the judge was previously involved in negotiations with the rebellion. But the motion was shot down.

All we can hope is that Rock has learned his lesson and will be a willing mower of lawns in about five years. That'd be nice.

200th Post Spectacular!!!

It's hard to believe that we have already reached the 200 posts on the blog (DeA adds: 4 of them were funny ones!). To commemorate this special occasion, I got DeAndra some tulips. It just so happened that the tulips also served as 'just because' flowers, and girls like stuff like that.
Now, on to the real story for today: Rock's Journey to the mystical land called Tennessee to meet his lil' lady. He was pretty excited to go see her, so he tried to load up his favorite toys.
He didn't understand why Mommy didn't think that Macey would want to play with a Tonka Truck. It made him wonder if why anyone would want to hang out with girls if they don't appreciate the awesomeness of Tonkas.

Next he practiced his rebellious stare out into the horizon. Chicks dig that 'tough guy' routine. Why? Who knows...
Well, it was finally about time to leave, and Rock was getting pretty excited to get in the plane and fly down to Macey.
"What do you mean we are driving? That's a long way..."
We finally corralled Rock and got him into the carseat. The first part was pretty easy, since he got to munch on delicious Ritz and cheese sandwiches.

The little guy tried to get some rest. He wanted to be nice and fresh for his lady.
The most important thing? Brushing your teeth. If there is one thing that girls hate, it's Ritz and cheese cracker breath.
Rock was so worked up in the car that by the time we got to Memphis he was all tuckered out. It worked out well though, since Macey was sleeping soundly when we got there.
The poor little guy was just so sleepy, and he was embarrassed to have waffle face from the carpet when he finally did meet her.
There she is, his little gal!
Our little lady killer suddenly became all shy and timid. He claimed to be awestruck by her beauty, but I personally think he was humiliated by his dirty diaper.
One of the cool things that we got to experience was Macey's blessing. Here is Dr. Scoresby holding his little girl.
There was some tension at the blessing, when a little love triangle tried to form. Little Afton tried to put the moves on little Rock. It was probably because everyone kept telling her that Rock was Macey's property, and therefore was off limits. Naturally, she was attracted to the forbidden fruit.
This picture is a dry run of the future wedding picture. Imagine the temple in the background and the kids not being held.

"Hey, hands off! She's mine!"
Rock posing for a practice picture with the in-laws.

"Welcome to the family, cuz."
"Wait, what do you mean I have to ride all the way home? NOOOOO!!!!"
Thanks Ben and Shannon for letting us come!!
