Bampa Dave & Other Visitors!!

Rock was pleasantly surprised to look out his front window and see a big trucked parked outside. He was even more excited when Bampa Dave got out!! He ran out to meet him in just his diaper and shoes, his official welcoming uniform. Bampa wanted some picks with the boys, but Rock was a big fan of being second fiddle.
He did his best to put on a happy face, but you can see the jealousy raging inside.
Rock finally laid down the law and separated Bampa and Ryker, that made things better.
Rock was so happy to run around, he hardly had time to stop for a picture.
After Bampa left, lil' Ryker chilled on the couch and enjoyed himself some classic BYU football games that Dad has on the DVR. He likes to get into his best hitting position and pretend that he's the one laying the wood to the other players.
This is pretty much what it looks like in his head.
"Whoa...did you see that hit? Maybe I'm not ready for the field yet."
"Yeah, I'll just settle in here and suck my thumb a little longer, gaining strength.
We had a rare moment where almost everyone was clean, so we took some pictures of DeA with the boys.
Rock is happy, because Ryker isn't between he and Mommy.
Mama Rae, Bonnie, Rissa and Whit showed up for their Carrie Underwood concert, and rock was so excited that he took off running. Unfortunately, he wasn't wearing his PF Flyers and biffed it on the tile floor. He has a pretty awesome goose egg on his forehead now.
Ryker secretly laughed inside, and not so secretly outside.

More Renton Fun

Rock and Ryker are still getting to know each other, and part of that process is letting Rock hold Ryker. I let Rock hold him whenever I'm tired, lazy and/or just want to sit on the couch and enjoy an ice cold A&W Root Beer. My theory is that the sooner Rock and Ryker can take care of each other, the sooner I can be golfing all the time.
Rock is more than willing to hold Ryker, because then he knows that he's going to be in the pictures. He's not a big fan of other people having their pictures taken in front of him.
He is even willing to to give Ryker loves and kisses to lull Mom and Dad into a false sense of security before he smacks him.
Poor Ryker, he doesn't even suspect that Rock is planning a sneak smack attack.
Well, maybe he's starting to get some kind of idea...
After living in Renton for over two months we've finally had enough consecutive sunshine to make it to the park and back, so we've turned Rock loose on the playgrounds. He plays hard, and since we are close to UW he replenishes himself after a workout with delicious chocolate milk.
DeA and Ryker like the park, too. Ryker is just bursting with excitement.
Eventually we had to tell Rock to go get in the car seat, but somehow he misunderstood and did something else with his seat.
Ryker likes coming home from the park because Rock usually crashes hard, and that means Ryker can lay fear-free on the couch.
"Uh oh, I think I heard tiny footsteps. Those footsteps are too small to be Mommy or Daddy...lay perfectly still and he won't find me."
Speaking of sleeping, Rock has been doing it better at night. He still wakes up before dawn and likes to roam free around the house, and sometimes he finds fun toys like the camera. He likes taking pictures of himself, since he is just so darn cute.
He looks tired, if only he'd sleep a little longer...
Or at least leave me out of the pictures.
No day is complete in the England household without some half naked time. Rock is proud of his body and likes to strut around the house like the cock of the walk (No Nick, that doesn't mean what you think it means...get your mind out of the gutter!).
Ryker likes half naked time too, but he feels ripped off that he can't strut around all awesome like.
Apparently lots of stuff goes on while I'm gone at work. Today Rock made a small tower in front of the dresser and looked for just the right outfit.
Finally he found it!!
He knew that he had something special, so he kept trying to see himself in the mirror. What's the point of looking awesome if you can't see yourself?

Sunday in Renton (and Newcastle)

We like our weekends, especially when the boys are happy. Rock and Ryker both slept well Saturday night, and Sunday they helped Mommy and Daddy wake up. Rock made sure that Mommy couldn't go back to sleep by stealing her pillow.
Ryker made sure that we got up by producing a 'Sunday Spectacular' in his nether-regions.
Rock tried to counter Ryker's attention grabbing skills by working up a little spectacular of his own.
"Uh no!"
"Dude! Not cool! I can smell that over here!"
One of Ryker's simple pleasures in life is a good diaper change. He also enjoys taking good number twos, so overall he likes his pleasures more than Mommy like them.
Rock decided if he couldn't take back the attention by stinkiness, maybe he'd do it by sweetness.
Ryker saw what was happening, and with the stakes being raised he started his super-adorable stretching routine.
His little chubby legs had never stretched so adorable before.
And his fluffy cheeks stretched their hearts out, too!
Of course, with all this attention grabbing going on DeA couldn't help but feel deprived as well. So she put on her best face, as well.
After church today we went on a little drive, and just happened to stop by a swanky golf course by our house. It has one of the best views at a golf course I have ever seen, comparable to this one.
After we got home, Rock decided to go brave the awesome Seattle weather and play outside. DeA told him he had to bundle up, and so he did his best to listen to his mommy.
"What do you mean I have to come in? This drizzle isn't technically rain in Seattle, it's partly sunny!"
"No, my hat is fine. Why do you ask?"

Birthday Weekend!!

Mama Rae, Bampa Dae and Nick came over for the birthday weekend. Time sure has gone by fast, and our lil' Ryky is already three months old. It's always nice when we have company, because when Rock receives three times as much attention he is three times as happy. It also means that instead of playing man coverage on the boys we can go into a two-on-five zone, and even Jim Boylen will tell you that five on two is better than two on two.
Rock loves a good birthday cake, and this time he learned to use the candles to scoop up the delicious frosting.
"Um, are you going to eat that?"
Bampa Dao made sure that Rock had plenty of ice cream and cake all night long...
and all the next morning.
Nick was more than willing to help with the boys, and it gave Mom a chance to stare at him and imagine if he were actually in the process of looking for a girlfriend to eventually get married...she's funny when she imagines outrageous stuff like that.
We went to Southcenter Mall on Saturday morning to look for chick stuff and to say hi to the pink elephant outside of the Rainforest Cafe. After we got home, Mama Rae and Bampa Dao started the process of leaving for home. Mama Rae spent time cooing at Ryker...
While Bampa Dao put Rock down for a nap. An hour later we checked on them and found this:
They were both so tuckered out, but eventually Bampa Dao woke up and decided to leave before Rock woke up. He gets a tiny bit cranky when his guest leave without him and make him stay with his boring parents.
Rock woke up a little cranky, and so we took him to the toys at Bellevue Square to distract him from his crushing loneliness. It worked pretty out pretty well.
There were about 1.4 million kids playing on the toys, so DeA thought it would be fun to play "Where's Rocko?". Can you find him? For about fifteen minutes she couldn't either.

All the running around and playing with the other kids tuckered the little guy out, and he was finally ready to go home...
After a quick stop for some 'lemomae'.
Happy three month birthday, Ryker!!
