CANADA!! Lots of photos, eh.

DeA and the kids had never been to Canada. We remedied that over Memorial Day weekend. Of course the kids were fascinated by all the hockey stuff.
Our first morning was spent at the zoo. The kids were more awed by the wooded lion than the real ones inside.

They made sure to get their maps and were set to explore.
DeA noticed these cool bike carts that others were using and signed us up. The kids were on board...literally.
The cart made it easy to fly around the zoo and spend more time with the animals. This cheetah was putting on a show while chasing a squirrel around its enclosure.
Ryker wanted to take pictures while DeA and I pedaled.

We all had fun, but we were definitely worn out. Jens had a hard time waking up for dinner.
Poor thing, but those nap lines look awfully cute.
Ryker didn't have the same issues, he was excited for Boston Pizza.

Rock takes his cereal very serious.
Across the street from the hotel was an A&W with pretty decent poutine. Rock loved the root beer on the tap.
DeA was pretty worn out the whole weekend. She was trying to get over a cold and made it a little hard to share a bed.
There was also a little park around the corner that the kids loved. You'd have thought that they had never seen a teeter totter before.
We ate dinner at a restaurant that gave the kids little paper pirate ships with their food inside.
They were pretty impressed.
Our next adventure took us to Capilano Suspension Bridge. The kids weren't sure what they were getting themselves into.

The bridge was pretty packed with tourists that thought that the no selfie stick sign didn't apply to them.
The kids loved walking on the big bridge and the little smaller canopy ones.

Like a little England family totem pole.

Hubba hubba

Grouse Mountain was just a few miles farther up the road so we did that, too. The kids thought that the gondola was freaking sweet.

Once at the top the kids got to enjoy the view and some remaining snow.

The kids were shocked at how much snow was still on the ground.
The loved seeing Mt. Baker in the background, although Ryker was concerned that it might erupt.
They thought it was a fun place to hang out.
On the way back from Vancouver we stopped at the temple. You can definitely tell who the mother hen is in our family.

For our last dinner we stopped at BP one more time.
Poor DeA just couldn't keep up with the rest of us. You can pretty much see Jens' thinking "I guess I'm the mommy now".

Conejos!!

We have had some bum luck with pets. Raf Gato ran away, Winnie was a disaster and the rock chuck that lives in the lot next to us won't let Ryker cuddle with him. The kids need some sort of responsibility and Ryker needed someone to cuddle with that wasn't his sister. So we settled on bunnies. It seems to be a winner.
 This is Rock's bunny, Brownie.
 Ryker named his Oreo.
Jens named her gray bunny Bugs. They need to work on their naming game.

Youth Hike Up Chelan Butte

This year our stake participated in trek to help the youth understand the sacrifices made by the pioneers. The hike was just under two miles and straight up the side of the hill. Bishop Jeffrey (the same Jeffrey that melted candle wax to spell KC on the floor of Mom and Dad's basement to try and get him in trouble) led a brief church history discussion.
As he spoke the sun started to peek out from behind the mountains to our east.
Then the kids were asked to spread out, and write down some thoughts and impressions.
Dad showed up in the helicopter right on cue to deliver delicious breakfast burritos. The kids seemd to swallow them whole.
Brian took bites, but that was only to make sure he had as much delicious salsa verde as he could.

After breakfast we started back down the mountain.
 The view was pretty special.
I don't know what was going on with my camera filters.
