This year our stake participated in trek to help the youth understand the sacrifices made by the pioneers. The hike was just under two miles and straight up the side of the hill. Bishop Jeffrey (the same Jeffrey that melted candle wax to spell KC on the floor of Mom and Dad's basement to try and get him in trouble) led a brief church history discussion.
As he spoke the sun started to peek out from behind the mountains to our east.
Then the kids were asked to spread out, and write down some thoughts and impressions.
Dad showed up in the helicopter right on cue to deliver delicious breakfast burritos. The kids seemd to swallow them whole.
Brian took bites, but that was only to make sure he had as much delicious salsa verde as he could.
After breakfast we started back down the mountain.
The view was pretty special.
I don't know what was going on with my camera filters.
