On the Run

Ryker had his home track meet, it was very track-meety.
I feel like he'd be faster if he didn't wear the undershirt, but he doesn't believe me.
On Thursday we had a doubleheader in Omak. I truly wondered why I was driving to Omak in this weather, but Rock promised that it wasn't bad at the field.
He lied, it sucked and was wet. He got to play second and did really well, looked like a natural infielder.

It was a gross, muddy, and cold. He hit a solid single in his last at bat.
Friday was softball and then Jens' birthday dinner at Company Creek.
Nama made her Dirt Messert for her birthday cake
Without DeA around, Ryker's cup collection kept growing.
We had a ward cultural activity on Saturday and I got to represent Argentina, with Jens' help.
I think we bought the cheapest pinata in the world and then filled it with too much candy. It lasted about three whacks.
Our Argentina centerpiece.
Rock decided to have all his friends over after the party, they ate a lot of pizza and drank a lot of root beer.
Rock had a playoff game against Tonasket. He was the DH and kid of liked only having to worry about ripping the ball.
He had some good at bats, and almost had the game-winning RBI if the ump had been paying attention to home plate.
Luca seemed to enjoy yelling.
Ryker loved using Sofia to stay warm.

We won a wild one in extra innings, the first playoff win in at least 20 years.
Wednesday we had softball practice and then did service at Bettie Kenck's. At least I think that is what this is called.

Ryker had another track meet in Brewster and did the long and high jumps.
He also tried the hurdles with zero training. It went about as well as you'd expect someone with zero training would do.
We have been pretty busy and worn out, which led to Rock falling asleep like this one day.
Jens had softball on Friday, and then the boys met us in Chelan for some Friday night pizza.
Saturday was more playoff baseball at Liberty Bell. Rock DH'd again and hit it hard, just right at someone.
Tanner discovered that the hand-operated scoreboard was unguarded and helped himself to it. He seemed to be in heaven.

Nieces, Nephews, and So Much More

Ryker swapped out his birthday present for a multi-colored attachment for his 3D printer. He has been making some really cool stuff with it.
Crossnet continues to be a hit with the chilluns.
Speedy Bullet had his first track meet in Brewster. They beat the other team by about 80 meters, only to tell us later that they raced girls because there were no other boys teams.
He was pretty nervous about the high jump, and he thinks his eyebrows are too dark.
He gave it a good attempt, but you could tell that the nerves were getting to him on his approach. Still, he was pretty happy with it all.
Meanwhile, across the street, Rock was playing Brewster. He hit the ball hard twice, but just happened to hit it right at someone.
Manson beat Brewster for the first time since maybe I was in school. It's a pretty big deal.
We spent a Saturday up in Oroville for a doubleheader. He got to catch both games and looks more and more confident back there.
He got to spend 1/2 an inning at second, he really likes second a lot more than the outfield. He's happy to play anywhere, but he really thrives in the infield.
We had an 8am youth session of Stake Conference. I was proud of so many kids who somewhat willingly showed up early. They did get cereal out of it, the good stuff too, not the healthy crap.
Baby Sofia
Also Baby Sofia
Rock had a lot of baseball this last week, with a JV game on Monday, and Varsity Tuesday and Thursday. He likes JV games because he gets to catch with almost zero pressure. He played well and finally started throwing the ball around without thinking or aiming.
Hampa likes to sit away from us, but not quite all the way in Narnia.
It wasn't as cold as DeA would have you believe. After Rock hit a solid single, she said that now she has to wear all these layers no matter how hot it gets because it is good luck.

Post game tacos always hit the spot.
Sofia's blessing was planned for Sunday and Nick's crew(e) came over to party. Luca was ready with his freezer burnt Drumstick.

Crewe in the house!
He who controls the screen controls the world.

Sleepy Crewe in the house!
Rock decided to go to prom stag. Even without a date he was pretty nervous.
All the girls go crazy about a sharp dressed Rock.
Luca enjoying his treats and screen without cousins to distract.
Jens made delicious cupcakes for family dinner with strawberry jam mixed in the frosting.
Family lunch Crewe in the house!
Harlow isn't a big fan of mine and I am not sure why.
She just gives me this look the whole time.
