Yup, it's true. Rock has reached the important age of 18!! He's been talking about how excited he is to turn 18, and I just haven't had the heart to tell him that the big birthday is 18
years,
not months. He's been asking us if he is all grown up yet, and he tries to flex his pecs to show how massive he is.
He's been working on his "hey, that's cool" face. You know, the one where your roommate asks if he can date your ex-girlfriend, and you say that it's cool, but secretly you are planning to plant the lentil sock in his pillow. You know, that face.
He also asks us all the time if he is tall yet. I keep telling him not to get his hopes up, but he keeps checking.
To pretend that he's tall, Rock will climb on things. He has conquered his changing table and the kitchen table, and lately he's been tackling the entertainment center. He has the first shelf down, but it gets a little sticky from there.
Even though he thinks that he is all grown up, he still finds time for his mommy. Where did he learn to do that? From his mommy, who is finding time for her mommy. It's a giant cycle, see?
In non-Rock related news, DeAndra and I went on a date tonight. We went putt-putt golfing and DeA nailed a hole-in-one. Here she is taking the ball out of the cup. I called the newspapers, but they didn't seem to interested in reporting it. Stupid papers...I hope they all go out of business.
We found this little park behind out house, and Rock loves running from the slide to the steps and around and around. He discovered that it's even more fun when you are chasing a cute little blonde (but hey, isn't that just life?).
All that chasing, climbing and sliding sure takes it out of you. Good thing he has his trusty John Deere sippy cup.
