Rock has turned into a little copycat, and his favorite muse is his Mommy. It is kind of funny to see him mimic what she does, and then hear her say "Where the deuce did you learn that?" Today he was happily playing when he noticed this door in our living room, and he started standing like this:
What is he doing? This video shows it a little better:
Any similarities?
DeAndra is always cold and likes to bundle up at all times. We took Rock outside and he made sure to put on all the heavy coats that he could find. He couldn't lower his arms and looked like a blond starfish.
The good news was that with all that padding he could swing without worrying about falling.
Everybody knows that DeA loves to sit and watch her stories, especially 7th Heaven and El Amor Prohibido. Rock can't stand soaps, so he sits and watches Monday Night Football. So awesome.
Sometimes Dea likes to let loose with some pretty salty language. She's been known to drop a 'dangit' or a 'shucksers' when she's stressed. Guess what word Rock can say now?
"MMM...Washington apples!!"

Washington Apples!!
There's no secret that Washington Apples are great. One crummy thing about living in the midwest is that we are inundated with mushy Michigan apples and inedible Illinois apples. Remember, if it doesn't have the Washington logo, it's probably grown by commi-nazis who hate America...or Michiganders.
Well, the new crop of Washington Honeycrisps hit our local HyVee this week! Rock is in sweet apple heaven munching the beauties that are the size of his head.
I recently picked up a new putter ($8 at Dunham's, so you know it's quality) but I haven't had a chance to make it to the putting greens yet. Rock recognized this problem, and so he has taken it upon himself to break in my new putter. As you read that last sentence, I hope you placed the emphasis on break.
After racking the balls in the house, Rock munches on the nutritious mix of dried bananas, gummy bears and naval lint.
PS - Uncle Len and Doug can send commission checks to Rock's agent, Aaron.

GO COUGARS and the Return of Belly Picks!!
Rock was pretty excited for the BYU game today, mostly because Connor brought over a TON of popcorn! And it's not just any kind of popcorn, but caramel peanut butter popcorn!!
Rock realized that his pre-game Cougar Dance might have jinxed the Cougs, so he and Connor waited until after the victory to celebrate. Go Cougs!
In other news, DeA is definitely showing now! We took some belly pics of her cute belly...
"Oh look at me! I can stick my belly out too!"
"Look how adorable I am? Who cares about a baby that's not here yet?"
Even when it is about DeA and Boulder, Rock knew that he could steal the show.

Rock's Hair Take Two
DeAndra has been whining for a while that Rock's hair is getting shaggy and mulletish. She even threw around the idea that I could cut his hair, which was a trap that I wasn't about to fall into (again).
Well, enough was enough, and DeA said many times that she didn't care if I cut it (oh, why did I believe that?) so I went ahead and trimmed up his shaggy mop. I think it turned out well, but judging from the fact that DeA hasn't talked to me since this morning I'm going to guess that she doesn't agree.
Even though she wasn't incredibly thrilled with Rock's sweet new cut, she still wanted to show Rock that she still loves him and his horrible-head-injury-survivor hairdo.
Rock seems pretty happy about it...well, he's either happy about his haircut or the olives. Olives are cool too.
I think Rock is getting jealous that DeA walks around the house funny, so he's pretending to walk like pregnant Mommy.
Rock is starting to conquer harder words. The other day we realized that he knew the word 'pineapple' and asks for some at every meal.
Finally, on to sports...The other night we took Rock to a middle school girl's volleyball game. He was pretty excited and payed pretty close attention, especially considering that it was a girl's middle school volleyball game.

The Two Sides of Rock
Rock is a pretty impressive little guy. I know I am a little biased, but he seems to be a little advanced of the other kids. Don't believe me? Check it out, the guy already has to shave to avoid rocking the Miami Vice shadow.
Even though the little guy is a physical specimen, he still is a little silly sometimes. Earlier today he walked around with a 'captain' hat pretending to be the captain of the HMS King George V and is hunting the Bismark. Such a silly boy.

Sickly Rock and the PB&H
Our little guy recently conquered his latest foe: A fever and lethargy. He had a slight fever of around 100*, but he just wanted to cuddle on the couch and watch The Simpsons. DeAndra tried all day to get him to eat something, but he wasn't hungry. I got home from school and made myself peanut butter and honey sandwich...except I didn't get to eat any of it.
The little moocher just munched my sandwich like it was going out of style.
But now Rock is feeling better, and likes to show off his awesome vocabulary.

Titleist Follow-up
After hearing DeAndra's obscenely inappropriate pronunciation of the word, I think it is important to point out that it is pronounced title-ist. It is not pronounced...um, never mind...just stick with title-ist and everything will be fine.

My Golfing Feat!!
This is my trusty Titleist #3 golf ball. It was given to me by Whitni for my birthday this past May. On September 14, 2009, the Monday after part 3 boards, I went golfing with three other guys. After playing the front nine and buying a sandwich, we were set to tee off for the back nine. I pulled out this precious #3, teed him up...
and looked down the tenth fairway.
Well, we played the nine blessed holes on the back. As I looked down to retrieve my ball from the 18th cup I realized that I was still using ol' #3. I thought back and realized that I played the whole back nine of a championship course with the same ball! I was pretty stoked about that. Anyways, I know that you don't care so here's Rock eating a banana.
Lately he's been boogying down whenever he hears music playing. It doesn't matter if it's TV, radio, cellphones or DeA singing. He's got moves just like his mommy.

Mophead Rock
Rock's blond hair is starting to get a little shaggy. He isn't a big fan of having hair in his eyes while he's trying to rush the QB or line up a putt, so he's requested a new hair cut.
I declined the offer to do it, since things didn't work out so well the last time I cut his hair. So, DeA decided to play around and show him his options. He tried the 'Flock of Seagulls' hairdo, but didn't think that it had survived the test of time.
So, as of right now, Rock still is a little blond mop-head. I think he's okay with it, since he didn't bring it up during Grandpa and Linz's visit the other day. He did a good job of showing off for the visitors so that they felt like they got their money's worth. Here he is showing Gpa his new soccer goal celebrations.
He tried really hard to get Gpa to take him outside, even when it was way past his bedtime.
He even broke out his new little dance jig for his audience.
Gpa and Linz were only here for one night on their way to Florida. They were getting ready to leave when Rock realized that they were going to see Mickey Mouse, so he packed his overnight bag and tried to hitch a ride.
I told him that he couldn't go anywhere unless he put pants on, but he said he didn't want to embarrass Donald Duck.
