He was born on Christmas day in 1985. I remember it clearly, because I had to spend Christmas at the hospital. Also, the hospital stunk and was full of crazy old people. But, Nick was born and so that's cool.
This year he turns 24 years old. He just doesn't know it yet.
On Christmas Eve we made some yummy apple cider. Notice who is working, and who is texting random peoples.
Marissa looks happy to be there...while Dad is working
Kevin turned into the unofficial apple-dumper-into-muncher guy. He was the only one that didn't really mind the little apple bits shooting out.
Oh, now Marissa wants to be around the cider...well played, Rissa. Well played.
Gma and Gpa let Rock open random presents early on Christmas Eve. One of the presents was a lights and sounds Cop car.
He loved it! He even took it to bed with him and blew it kisses as he fell asleep.
Like always, Christmas morning took its sweet time getting here. And like always, it was well worth it. Rock wasn't sure what he was waking up to, and so it took him a little bit of time to get as excited as DeA and I.
Whitni didn't take long to rip into her loot, while Rock was still plugging along trying to wake up.
His blue Play-Do seemed to liven him up a little,
but Marissa's silicone oven mitts got him really excited.
One of his first presents was this cool dinner set. The plate looks kind of like a construction zone, and the silverware is a set of little heavy machinery.
He was really excited to use them all over the house.
He actually used them to eat some breakfast,
but that didn't last long before he was back doing work.
He even used them to open his next present.
What was his next present? A totally awesome, but possessed remote control car.
Rock thought it was awesome to maneuver the car from somebody's lap,
but it wasn't as fun to be stuck on the floor with that little psycho, possessed car running around!
His next present was a little more low key, since it was just a box of cute threads. Hopefully the clothes aren't possessed, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
After opening some other cool things (including a sweet train from Chayo and a blanket with some cool slippers from Eileen) he got to this HUGE and potentially awesome gift!
It was this super duper awesome mitt chair!! Now he has a cool recliner for the living room and a plush chair for the bedroom.
He was so excited to show it off, so he made Mommy sit down and then he posed like a pro (or an attention starved spoiled child) for the camera.
Grammy decided that having Rock with her was one of the best gifts she could have, so she put a little bow on his head.
"Whatcha all laughing at?"
"Because I have this giant head and little baby arms!"
After all the fun present opening and chair posing, DeA wanted a belly pic by the tree.Oh, and guess who had to have one too...
We got done with presents and pictures just in time to leave for the Reindeer Game. I tried to get my mom to come, but she said she was too comfy with her pink Snugglie and new Kindle.
Grappy also passed on the game so that he could enjoy some Rock time (once again, sorry Grandpa Dave)
Speaking of the Reindeer Game...We had a pretty good turn out and had a ton of fun.
We tried playing with flags, but quickly found out how hard it is to pull flags with numb fingers and gloves on.
Marco had an awesome interception to put the good guys, I mean red team, ahead to stay!
Once we got home Rock showed me his cool new touchdown celebration.
Merry Christmas!!
The only thing better than Rock in the blog is to have him in person. He has been a blast and I already miss him. Glad his folks shared him with us. THE best present ever.
