DeA was pretty anxious to get out of town for the family reunion. There were a lot of emotional things that happened over the last few weeks of school: Rock had issues with a teacher, Ryker lost the middle school election because of an immature friend, and Jens wasn't feeling well. We jumped in the car right after work on Friday and took off. We made a quick stop in Wenatchee to eat in the parking lot like the white trash that we are.
We made it to Yakima. In the past, I had seen an Arctic Circle there, but had never stopped. AC holds a special place in my heart, there was one by our apartment in SLC when we were first married. I would often bring her ice cream after work, and we stopped there a lot after dates or running errands. It was sitting in an Arctic Circle parking lot when I decided to go to Palmer. You'll understand my surprise when I pulled into the parking lot to surprise her and she said "I don't think I've ever been to an Arctic Circle".
She "had" to admit that it was pretty good.
We stayed the night in Yakima, and stopped at the Greek nun bakery the next morning. It was a pretty easy drive to Bend, the kids were inspired to be good so that we could make it to Chick Fil-A as quick as possible.
It was fun to have everyone show up and the kids to get settled. Harlow quickly found the watermelon.
The two houses were less than half a mile away, most of us walked but Rock decided to ride his bike.
It was a lot of fun to have so much of the family together.
One house had a pool table, ping pong table, foosball table, hot tub, and was by the golf course. That was the party house. The other house was in the woods and had none of that, that was the little kid and baby house. Or, as Rissa called it, the miss out on everything house.
Luca definitely didn't miss out on any of the snacks.
Cami loved to eat the marshmallows out of the Lucky Charms and leave the rest for someone else to finish.
Root beer for breakfast is Brando's favorite.
Ryker loved running and biking between houses to relay messages, take stuff, and visit other cousins. On Sunday morning it sure made him look like a missionary.
D-Rell pounded something like four toasts with Nutella for breakfast. Sacrament meeting should be extra fun with this group.
Cute girls ready for church.
It was a great Father's Day meeting, and after we tried to get a pic of the kids with Hampa.
As you can imagine, there was some serious cat wrangling going on.
Eventually we got something that resembled a group picture.
The kids spent a lot of Sunday afternoon in the hot tub. The water did not stay that clear for very long, but no one wanted to talk about it.
Harlow loves to stare right into your soul.
