Stehekin, Day 2

The first time we stayed at the Ranch, we did Agnes Gorge the first morning. Now, we only do Agnes Gorge. Never Bridge Ck, never Agnes Ck, only Agnes Gorge. This time we had a red-headed straggler.
Selfie with the photobomb
We pack a lunch for the hike, but also hurry on the hike to make sure that we make it back in time for lunch at the Ranch. The Ranch meals are very important.

Every year, our post-hike selfies are looking less and less ragged.

Max had to pee, so I waited while he found a tree and the other went on. I found a patch of wildflowers so I started picking some. Max finished his business and ran along, I stayed behind for maybe five minutes before following. Soon DeA came running back down the trail looking for me and said "when you didn't show up we were worried that you collapsed or something!". I didn't know that I seemed that out of shape.
Leo eats his prime rib like nature intended, with a swollen eye and no knife.
The other guests were probably annoyed that we took up almost a whole table.
Dinner selfie!

His eye was pretty, pretty bad.
DeA and I love our post-dinner walks

She is pretty.

Stehekin, Day 1

When we first took our kids to the Ranch, we were surprised at how much they loved it and wanted to go back. It's a time without phones, distractions, or day-to-day problems, and we love the bonding time. The past two years have been even better with Nama and Hampa and Rissa's crew coming at the same time.

Luca is always ready for action.
Leo was worn out by the boat ride and his Maui Wowie
Porch sitting is always a popular thing to do
Staring at DeA is always popular to me
Luca loved to ask his big cousins to play with him
He didn't always understand the games, but he wanted in.
They turned the driveway into a baseball/frisbee/football field.
Baby Sofia was pretty happy the whole time.
Every night ended with games. DeA and Ryker sometimes got a little too competitive.
Max thought every answer in Apples to Apples was hilarious.
DeA had a hard time understanding when the answer was supposed to be funny, when it was supposed to be serious, and when it was supposed to be a non-sequitor.

Jensley Stuff

Now that baseball and track are over, Jens had kind of been front and center with her stuff. She had her band concert on Monday night

She had her softball game on Tuesday. It was a little windy and cold, and DeA had the boys pick her up a blanket and used the stuff-bag as a hat.
She was a little tired on Wednesday morning. That evening she had a hike with the YW that wore her out even more.
She was the starting pitcher on Thursday night and pitched well, struck out the side with two walks and three or four errors behind her.

It Might Surprise You, But We Have Been Busy

We got to watch MAXAMILIANO! play little league on Friday. A hawk dropped this delicious trout on the field by the little guys. The boys thought it was awesome, the moms did not.
Saturday was spent at the sand pits for Jens' beach volleyball tournament.
DeA escaped for a few minutes to work off her zoomies at the playground with the little girls.
Epic V-ball picture
We snuck away for breakfast and other snacks.
She is pretty.
Jens won her first match in bracket play and then was able to get her much-deserved nap.
The evening was spent at the alumni game. It is always fun, but poor DeA was exhausted and tired of sitting in the cold watching sports.

Mother's Day and Softball

We sure love our DeA, she is the bestest and we are so lucky to have her.
We went to the temple on Tuesday and enjoyed the day there together.
Rock is limping to the end of the early morning seminary/school year.
Our evening walks are one of our favorite things about spring and summer.
DeA always looks pretty, but she looks especially pretty in the sunsets.

The cats have killed at least a dozen mice and now they have added a snake to their kill list. Bit that thing straight in half.
Jens had her first game in Wenatchee and was so amped up that she could only sleep most of the way instead of her usual all the way.
She pitched an inning and was nails!
From far away, you might not understand how serious she takes her pitching.
She takes it very seriously.
It isn't all focus...
It's also whatever this face is.
She had three at bats and saw one hittable pitch, which makes her strike-throwing performance even more impressive.
All the strike throwing and walk drawing wore her right out.
