First Party in the New House

Jens' birthday was the same weekend that we moved in, that meant we got to have a party to celebrate Jens and the house. Leo and Hadley set up where the food was.
Maddy made Jens a sweet unicorn cake. Jensley loves unicorns!
She also loves not smiling at the camera.

Watch out! Hadley is going to get the unicorn!

Samantha Courtney made her a unicorn shall/coat/robe thing. Jens loved it!

Even though we are in the house, the house is not done. They came and put the deck railings and glass up. It makes it easier to enjoy the view.
Leo is living the ruff life.
Our couches arrived and now it is starting to feel like we can relax and settle in.
 Jensley photobomb!

A new house needs a new mailbox.
They took turns "working". Ryker didn't like that our mailbox could fit inside Mom and Dad's.

Ryker insisted on putting on the address stickers. DeA wants you to remember that when you drive by and see them crooked.
Looks like we are settling in just nicely.

Blossoms and the Move Begins

Jens loves going for rides on the 4-wheeler with me. I made her pose by the apple blossoms for a photo shoot.
She doesn't really like to do photo shoots.

When DeA made me move the playhouse into our backyard at Summer Breeze, she promised that I wouldn't have to move it again. Well, she lied.
They started pulling the film off of the windows. We forgot how pretty the view was.
The kids are already deciding where to damage the walls first.
Stair railings!
Kitchen view
We have to be out of the Summer Breeze house before the end of the month, so we've started moving stuff into the new house. The bunkbed is set up in Jens' room!
They pulled the paper off of the floors! Look at that hardwood!
The kids feel a little unsettled right now, but not as much as Leo. He has no idea what is going on.
Our first night in the new house!
The first night went okay, we only ended up with Leo and Ryker on our bedroom floor. Leo started barking like crazy at 2am because there were headlights on the hillside five miles away.
The next day moving began in earnest. Thankfully Grandpa was there to help. A lot of other people were suddenly very worried about the virus when they were asked to help.
Ryker worked hard to get his room just how he wanted it.
Nick and Emily showed up during the weekend, so Nick helped while Hadley taught Leo a thing or two.
We had no internet, no TV, and no furniture. The kids made due. Please remember their sacrifice.

Late Spring to Early Summer

It has been a little windy lately, but one calm night we took advantage and built a s'mores fire.

Jens noticed the pretty flowers and picked some for her pretty mom.
It wasn't cold, but Rock still wanted to hood up.
DeA was very flattered to received her flowers.
Homeschooling has been hard. Drink chocolate-milk-through-a-straw-out-of-a-tiny-glass kind of hard.
Easter means we dye eggs in Grandma's driveway. we thought the kids were getting too old for this, but they really wanted to keep the tradition going.

The house is almost to the point we can move in. Thanks to our governor's arbitrary and ridiculous ban on residential construction we are at a little bit of a standstill. We are still allowed in the house, so Jens helped me finish her mantle.
We got some fancy BYU masks to wear in public.
The appliances are in, the counters are in, now we are just waiting on them to finish the backsplash, bathroom accent tile, and other odds and ends.
Some of the backsplash is in.
We've been spending lots of time at Mom and Dad's. Our house is being packed up for the move and it is easier to cook there. Here is Jens making scrandled eggs.
The construction ban was lifted for ten days, which gave them time to get some stuff done. Here's our new fluffy carpet!

They poured the front porch and side slab! Now we can use the new front door!

From the front porch Rock can see deer on the hillside. That will come in handy in the fall.
This is a good place to sit.
The bedroom carpet is fluffy, too.
