Rock is his mother's child

Some of you may remember back before our lives were blessed with the 'Spoiled One' how much DeAndra loved Whitey's ice cream. In case you forgot, you can take a gander here. Well, it seems that the Whitey's gene lives on, because the little guy was going nuts while DeA and I shared a root beer malt. Just a little warning, these videos might not be that exciting if you aren't a grandparent...

He's still battling a terrible battle with his tiny teeth. They just refuse to break through and provide him with sweet relief. We've been giving him Oragel once and a while, and he seems to like it, although you can tell that it weirds him out a little bit.

Here's a pic of Rock and his beautiful Mommy. Precious.

Rock was looking our our bedroom window and found a little furry friend. He named the squirrel Bullwinkle, just because.

Tabasco Sauce 1 Rock 0

The pictures speak for themselves.

You have to be asking yourself who gives their kid a bottle of wonderful Tabasco sauce. Rock saw me eating a delicious Hot Pocket and putting Tabasco on each bite and wanted to play with the bottle. Well, I thought he wanted to play with the bottle, but it turns out he wanted to try a little bit. You can see above how well that worked out for him. The good news about this whole thing: DeAndra wasn't home at the time so I didn't get in trouble. Who knows where the Tabasco would have gone if she had been here.

The big news of the week: Rock's future wife or roommate is on their way!!! Congrats Ben and Shannon. Click here for more details, and then don't forget to vote on DeAndra's Poll Question of the Week!

In other news, Rock still likes his exersaucer, he's just exploring it in different ways.

But he's still willing to share with Little Man

He has other toys too, like the air vent above, and the bar stool below.

Since Rock is such a good baby, he likes to help Mommy around the house. Yesterday he helped her rearrange her cookbooks and recipes. She was so happy.
He's still figuring out this crawling thing. He's got the speed down pretty well, but his form is lacking some polish. His little chuckle is also coming along nicely.

Rock, The Lost Footage

Rock: Cuteness Epitomized

It has been quite the week for little Rock. He's learned how to get whatever he wants from DeAndra by crawling over to her and looking up at her with his baby blues.

One of his big accomplishments this week is that he finally decided to pick up the game of golf. He really seems to like my clubs because they are hard and cold on his little tiny teeth buds in his gums. He'll learn to swing the clubs soon enough, but right now he is synergizing with them. Feeling the mojo of the clubs.

DeAndra was working on her favorite hobby, the laundry, and left a basket full of warm, clean clothes fresh from the dryer when Rock crawled on over and made himself a cozy little bed. The only problem was that he had no idea how to get out, but Mommy didn't mind that very much.

Here's some more pictures of Rock's awesome cuteness. The little guy is going to be a lady killer, so ladies beware.

The little guy is still mind melding with his Louisville Slugger and building a strong understanding with the bat. All classically good hitters do this.
DeAndra is trying to let Rock learn to feed himself. Her master plan is to have him feeding himself and then cleaning himself. Then, if everything comes to fruition, by Christmas he will be driving me to school in the morning while she cuddles with her mountain of pillows under the blankets until Rock comes home with an Egg McMuffin, a sausage biscuit a stack of delicious hotcakes and an orange juice for his Mommy. All part of the plan.

Just so people understand the magnitude of the cute monster that we are dealing with, here's a video fo the little going showing that he knows that the tears will get him his way.

And here's another shot of Rock achieving his mastery of golf, once he learns to get the clubs out of the bag.

And here's the little guy cheating at his basketball game

Rock '08: The Campaign Continues

Rock is continuing his quest for election by rolling up his sleeves and getting out among the people. He likes to make sure that he is covering all of the demographics, and here he is working the green elephant and blue horse vote.

Even though Rock is trustworthy, he is still a politician. That means that he is attracted to wallets and what they contain. But since he is still a baby, he isn't sure what all the fuss is about and why Mommy is always looking for and getting into Daddy's wallet.

Here our little candidate is working the Hispanic vote. Vamos Mexico!

And the little guy doesn't forget the women's vote, and here he is showing the womenfolk how familiar he is with their favorite toy.

Rock continues his campaign by answering questions at a town hall meeting. Remember, he doesn't plant questions, these are all legit. Notice the poise and confidence with which he answers the inquiries.

He isn't afraid to hit the pavement while on the campaign trail. He gets around quickly among the people.

After a long day campaigning, little baby Rock still manages to take time with his biggest fan, Mommy.

Rock: Awesomeness Defined

The dreaded rhino virus has stricken our household this weekend. Even the adorable little Rock has been inflicted and that has made life a little miserable for the rest of us. Because he is so stuffed up he isn't sleeping well lying down, so one of us got to hold him on the couch until 2am and then sat with him in the rocking chair until early morning. It's hard seeing his little face so sickly, like in this picture:
That was taken when I pulled him out of bed at 1am because he couldn't sleep. Doesn't he look like the sickly children poster boy?
Since we were up anyways, he decided that he wanted to watch some TV. The Blue Ray sunglasses guy really worked his magic on Rock, and he was begging me to get some. I was just about to cave in when the ultimate push-up infomercial distracted him and let me off the hook.

He loves climbing up on the couches and anything else that he can reach. He thinks that he will find some awesome toy up there, like a remote or random wires.
But he gets really mad when he works so hard to pull himself up and he comes up empty.

His crawling is getting better, and so he is able to better stalk things around the house. His latest prey has been the garbage can. He sneaks up on it slowly,
then acts cool if the garbage can looks around and sees him,
then, when the garbage can least expects it he jumps up and attacks with all his fury.
After he's caused massive garbage spillage, he sits on the floor and tries to get mommy to think about how cute he is and forget about the mess he just caused.

The little guy has been keeping up on his workouts this week. He's really enjoying the time that he can put in on the treadmill, and it puts a smile on his face.
But, since the little guy is sick, he spends a fair amount of time chilling on the floor in his little homemade bed.
This next series of pictures were taken at 1:30am when I went in to see why he wasn't sleeping. It's hard to be mad at him in the middle of the night when he is so darn cute.

And the big news of the week is that BYU won its football game. They beat UCLA 59-0!!!!! Rock was pretty happy, and dreamt about the game during his afternoon nap.
