Rock had a single game up in Oroville. He played well and the high socks looked sharp while he manned third base. We enjoyed the game from the bleachers, and eventually some Oroville girls sat behind us. After a bit, one of them said "the third baseman is built like a girl" and they kept talking about that. DeA started getting agitated, and I tried to tell her that they are making fun of Oroville girls, not Rock, but she was not happy that they were talking about Rock that way.
I thought things had calmed down by the time Rock came up to bat, but no, the girls had to say something again. Before I knew what was happening, DeA was spun around and telling the girls that they were being rude and to stop talking. They gave her a little resistance, but stopped talking about any Manson players after that. I wondered if I would have been safer with Dad out in left field.
By the time we got to KFC/Taco Bell, things had calmed down and the profanities had stopped flowing from DeA's lips.
Thankfully the next night was much more peaceful and calm.
We had double doubleheaders in Liberty Bell. Jens started both games and got squeezed so much by the ump that I'm surprised she isn't a diamond. Hampa Dale could not abide the blatant home-town umping and got a special visit from a LB event staff, but he was not wrong in his opinions. Some people just can't handle the truth.
Rock has been trying to get DeA up in the plane with him, and it finally worked out. Ryker went as her emotional support son.
It was a good lesson in trust for DeA, knowing that she could not do a thing if Rock needed help.
Doesn't she look so confident?
Yes, she definitely seems to be doing well not having any control over the situation
Of course it was a great flight and Rock got them home safe and sound.
Just ignore the barf bag in her hand.
Jensley had a double header against Bridgport and balled out. She threw strikes
And hit a dinger! It was the first Manson home run over the fence in the history of the fence, and the first home run of any kind by a Manson girl in years.
Luckily we were able to keep the ball.
