Rock the Car Guy!!

Rock is cool. Cars are cool. Trucks are cool. Cool things like to be cool together. So when Rock's Tonka truck arrived from Grandma Lisa this week Rock was stoked to be able to be cool with his cool truck.

Yeah, he really likes it, can you tell?

The truck also came with a sweet side benefit, a cardboard box. Now, most girls probably don't get was is so awesome about a giant cardboard box, so let me tell you: it is a time machine, a cave, a boat, a spaceship, a transcerebral augmentor...the list just goes on and on. Here Rock is pretending that it is a sideways Box. Imagination sure is wonderful.

So I guess that's everything...Unless you count the awesome car show that Rock attended!! Rock and I crashed the auto show with Aaron and Connor, and it was pretty sweet! Here Rock is test driving a new Hybrid Silverado.

Aaron and I found the perfect playpen for the kids while we gawked at the cool cars.







They wouldn't let Rock test drive the new Dodge Challenger, so he started a protest.

"So, you're bombin' down the highway and suddenly you wanna spin it around, right? So you just crank this lever up and spin the wheel. Easy."
The boys wanted to find the best tailgating car, so they spent quality time checking out the grilling area.

Even the weather wanted in on the awsomeness this weekend. On Rock Birthday Eve the temperature almost reached 60!! After thinking about it, I realized that Rock probably doesn't remember what Davenport is like when it isn't stupidly cold.

I think he likes nice weather.

The Rock Birthday Eve miracles continued after our little stroll outside, when we got home there was a birthday card waiting for Rock!! Grandma and Grandpa Christensen sent Rock his first birthday card!

The Weaning of Baby Rock

This Sunday our little baby Rock officially becomes little boy Rock. Its hard to believe that he's been around for almost a year now! DeAndra is having a hard time coming to terms with the end of Rock's nursing days. She really enjoys the bonding time, and he really enjoys not working for food. With all the talk about weaning Rock, I thought I'd introduce him to a bottle.

Rock is also really getting the hang of feeding himself. We like to give him a variety of foods and let him practice eating. Here DeAndra and Marissa let him learn how to eat pudding or yogurt.

Rock got tired of using the spoon, so he went straight for the goods.

Rock is still enjoying his Christmas presents. He and Rufus have developed a pretty good system together. Rufus terrorizes the villagers, then Rock flashes his baby blues to soften the heart of the authorities. Works everytime.

Slick Rock and His Can't Miss Super Bowl Picks!!

Rock was purusing over the Super Bowl coverage on the internet when he found out about prop bets! You may be asking, 'What is a prop bet and why is Rock so excited about them?'. Well, a prop bet is a wager that is placed on a side part of the game. So he got all decked out in his finest Seahawk apparell and was all excited to make some money!!

You can imagine how crushed he must have felt when we sat him down and explained that games of chance are the devil's toy. He was less than understanding, to say the least.
But Rock is persistent, and he snuck into the computer and wrote his picks anyways. The little guy is funny, since he doesn't know what money is! Silly guy.

Lets start with the Stone-Cold-Lead-Pipe Pick of the day!! Rock says to put all your Gerber Puffs on Daddy vs. Sony in the pregame Madden Bowl. Why does he feel so good about this pick? Because Daddy is playing as the all-time Seahawk team and Sony was randomly selected to play as St. Mary's School for Cupcakes. He doesn't even care what the spread is, pick Dad to cover!! Rock's eyes just lit up with excitement when he heard what the odds were for Pepsi vs. Coke commercials. Right now Pepsi is a three point dog at home, so Rock is screaming to give the points and pick Pepsi to not only cover, but to win. Who picks against the road Cola in a crucial game like this? Doesn't anybody remember The Great Coke upset in '98? This is the kind of thing that we should be teaching in schools!

Rock feels really confident about the color of the ref's hat. That's why he suggests putting down two See-and-Says on white. You'll be happy on this one.

He's pretty excited about where the over/under has been set for how many times John Madden talks about Brett Favre. Take the over at 44.5 and thank me in the morning.

Rock's been struggling a little bit on the line for number of streakers in the first half. On the one hand, somebody has got to streak, while on the other hand he's not completely sure what streaking means. His getting a little agitated that Mommy refuses to explain it to him, since she is pretty sure that it will only give him ideas for church next Sunday.
