Laying a Lawn and Skating Some Ice

One Saturday morning we looked across the street and noticed that our neighbors were receiving an insane amount of sod for their future lawn. We marched the kids across the street and offered our help.
They were great helpers, even with the trimming.
Some trimming went better than others.
The Lymans and their kids helped also. It was impressive how quickly all that grass went down.
In the end, the kids helped lay a third of an acre-ish of sod and didn't complain. They were great little helpers.
After we were all done and ready for a nap, the kids reminded us of a (foolish) promise to take them ice skating. I couldn't believe they still wanted to go, but go we did. We stopped first at Country Boys for some delicious meat.
 We all were pretty exhausted.

It was an uncharacteristically quiet dinner.

It was still messy, that never changes.

The skating was a lot of fun, even if we were tired and sore.

Rock and Ryker made me practice sending them on hockey shifts. They would come to the bench and sit for a spell, and then wait for me to send them out. They thought it was fun, DeA didn't get the appeal.
Despite our earlier BBQ stop, the kids claimed to famished. EZ's was the perfect cure, and they were finally satisfied.
Everyone slept especially hard that night.
