Seattle Trip

The kids have been asking for years to go to a Mariners game in Seattle. It's not that I didn't want to take them, it's just that downtown Seattle and the M's have been crap holes for years. They finally talked me into it, and we planned a trip with Rissa Turd's family and Nick's. We stopped at the temple on our way through Bellevue and the kids watched Rissa's kids when they came through about an hour later. Despite the repeatedly stated plans, we didn't go to XXX Root Beer and burgers, but we did get Chick FilA on the way to the hotel from the temple.
Luca Baby was a big fan of the CFA fries.
We went to Southcenter and the kids were overwhelmed with all the stores and smells. Jens saw a Claire's and asked to re-pierce her ears.
Right behind her in line was a 3 month-old baby
The food court was pretty popular with the kids. They each got to pick the restaurant that they wanted.

We met Nick at the mall and then all caught the train to Seattle Center
We jumped on the monorail, the boys loved the opportunities for Simpson's quotes

DeA and the kids really wanted to throw money away go to the observation deck of the Space Needle. We ended up bringing Cambri and Hadley with us. It made the waiting in line a little more adventurous.

Imagine that it wasn't Seattle weather and that you can see the Olympics or Rainier. Stunning.

Being the fun aunt has a price.
The game was fun, the team did a good job of making the games more family friendly with a value food menu and $10 tickets.
We had a little meltdown and left in the middle of the 8th, but the M's were up 6-0 on the Cheaters so at least we beat the rush to the train.

Spring Fun

The boys had their last music concert of the year. They did well, but it might have been a bit on the long side, and Ryker had a hard time about 90 minutes in
Rock's grade marched as if they were in a parade and did a great job.
DeA was outside when Leo Puppy cornered a pack rat.
Thankfully, Batman arrived to save the day.
Jen had her last game and did fantastic, so much improvement since her first game.

She surprised me by asking to pith an inning. It's something that she had worked on with some of the other parents during practice, but I was shocked that she wanted to do it in a game.
She did amazing, and look at that determination
We've had some pretty spectacular sunsets

Stomach Bug From Hell

For about a week, one kid a day would go down with a nasty stomach bug. It started with Huddy, but we thought it was because he ate 24 pizza rolls and spent about 30 minutes unsupervised in the pantry. But then Leo got sick, and then Sienna, then Max, and finally our kids started feeling it. Then they really felt it and for 24 hours they were miserable, DeA and I were running from one kid to another to help them clean up or get to a bowl or bathroom. We thought it was just a kid thing, but then around 9pm I started to feel it, and over the next 12 hours I lost about six pounds. I took my second sick day in the last 11 years and didn't feel remotely guilty.
Leo didn't understand why everyone was just laying around, but he was more than willing to join in.
They could barely get out off the couch.
Luca wasn't happy that his cousins weren't well. He already spits up everyday but he keeps on trucking on doing his baby Luca things.
Thankfully the effects of the bug ran their course in about 24 hours and both Jens and Ryker were ready to play in their scrimmage against each on Thursday. We finished with pizza and some kids were still unhappy.
Gma missed her birthday because she was also feeling the affects of the bug, but she finally got her everything pizza.
The elves were out and about today

I'm old.
Leo loved my birthday cake, but got mad when he discovered that Aunt DeA ate the last bite while he was gone and playing.
Nice sunset.

Spring Walk with DeA

This spring has had weird weather, but it creates cool views with the shadows and clouds.
The rest of this post are just pics of DeA and the scenery, sorry if you were hoping for kids this time.

More Ball and Apple Blossom

Jensley got to play a fun game against Chelan. She did great and I think she had fun.

Ryker got to pitch in the rain in a scrimmage against another Manson team. He thought it was fun.

Apple Blossom was once again great, except someone decided to put blueberries in the sourdough pancakes and I had a Ryker moment.

That's a lot of candy!
Quite the candy crew

The rain was pretty bad, but it was still fun.

Manson Growers passed out apple cider samples, Ryker was a fan
Thankfully the rain stopped when the parade started, and it turned out to be pretty pleasant.

Ryker doesn't like hot dogs unless they are broiled.
Mom threw a late B-day party for Lindz with a four-layer butterfinger cake. It was delicious.
