Goin' Fishin'

Rock woke up this morning at the crack of dawn and asked me if we could go fishing together.  I tried to let him fish off of the deck like he did last time, but this time he wanted to go down by the water.  I told him to get Ryker ready and we would go.  This is him tickling Ryker awake.
We tried to get DeA to come with us, but she was busy inventing a new form of table.
When we got down to the lake there was a Mexican family living there, with a tent and laundry drying.  By the way, this was Roses Lake that they were doing their laundry in.  Roses Lake is about as clean as a river downstream from a thousand cows.  So, we headed off to another corner and let Rock work his magic.
He was pretty happy throwing the hook into the water and seeing what kind of weeds he could catch.
Well, we got run out of Roses fairly quickly so we hiked down to Lake Chelan by our house.  This spot was a lot easier to cast into.
It was a perfect day for fishing: 75 degrees and no tourists.
Rock was a good big brother and tried to help Ryker learn to cast.  Ryker wasn't sure what to make of all the help.
I'd say that they had a pretty good time catching nothing.
When it was time to go home Ryker didn't waste any time taking off.
While Ryker was escaping I had to literally pull Rock away from his casting.
You can tell from the pictures above that it was a long walk home.  About halfway there Rock decided that he couldn't make it down this sand bank.  Ryker played along for a minute, then showed Rock how it was done.
"C'mon, Rock!  You just walk down the hill!  It is easy!"

  1. No still fishin' for those boys. I would bet they are going too fast for trolling too.

  2. These are great pictures - I love the ones that show the boys shadows! And DeAndra's creative table :)
