Overlooked Video

DeAndra was livid, just livid, that this video didn't make it in the last post. My apologies.

DeAndra recently had the opportunity to watch Connor for Jacque and Aaron. It is always funny to watch Rock and Connor play, since they are still trying to find each other's weaknesses. This round went to Rock, as he found out that Connor is susceptible to the bear hug/body slam combo.

Rock felt a little bad for the crushing body drop on Connor, so he tried to buy Connor lunch to make up for it.

After lunch they went cruising in the Tonka, and Connor was kind enough to provide the awesome engine noises that make trucks go.

Here they go looking for chicks.
Wait a minute, I think I've seen this picture before...Rock was pretty worn out after Connor went home, so I sacrificed and put off some important chores to help him be comfy.
The nap really helped Rock find his second wind, and he chowed down on some yummy goldfish.
Rock, now well rested and fed, decided to practice some more moves to try out when Connor comes back.

To finish the day Rock enjoyed a pre-bedtime snack.

My Face!! My Beautiful Face!!

As some of you may have heard, Rock got into a scuffle with the floor. This caused him to have some tooth problems that affected his male modeling career. Seems that the modeling agencies don't like guys with snaggled-tooth smiles. We spent the morning at two different dentist offices only to end up at an oral surgeon. They wrapped him in a blanket and then had two dental assistants wrestled him down to the table. He wants me to point out that they never actually got both shoulders down, so his pinless streak stays intact. After they cut out what was left of his tooth I picked him up and let him rest his head on my shoulder. The DAs didn't want him to get my shirt all bloody, so they laid down some paper towels. He grabbed the first paper towel and stared down the DAs, then threw the towel onto the ground. Then he grabbed the second towel, stared down the quack surgeon and then threw the second towel down. I don't think he likes that office very much right now. Here is what Cletus looks like now without his precious tooth.
You'll notice the fat lip that he gave himself while numb. He really liked gnawing on it while the novacaine was doing its thing, but wasn't to pleasant when it wore off.
He's not too happy that people are focusing on the injuries that the floor gave him, while ignoring what he did to the floor. He snapped a picture of the injuries that the floor suffered due to his fighting tactics. Pretty substantial. When we got back to the house he wasn't sure that he still trusted his old man, so he hung out with someone that wouldn't betray him.

I felt bad that he was grouchy, so I let him do his sprinkler dance on the couch.
Since he was a good little trooper we let him indulge in some yummy Whitey's. The surgeon gave him this cute little prescription for an ice cream cone, and its important to follow doctor's orders, just like the end of this. I tried to see if he trusted me again...
I guess he does, unless he poisoned it.

He is still acting like it is a little tender, but the ice cream sure seemed to work wonders for him. I'm not sure it helped strengthen the remaining chompers, but he didn't mind.

Rock in the ER!!

Now that Rock has finished his residency he has taken a part time job in the ER. He likes the pressure to perform, the life and death decisions and the free donuts. He has already had some intense moments, like when Tow Mater came in with a flat tire. Rock was just peacefully minding his business by playing with his stethoscope when all craziness broke loose.
"Hey! I need 140 CC of 15W-50, STAT!"
"Come on, hang in there! Don't you die on me!"
"What are you staring at? Make yourself useful and go get me 2500 cc of chocolate milk!"
"NO!!!! This can't be happening! Think of all the paperwork I have to fake now!"
Needless to say, Rock was pretty tuckered out by all the excitement. He had been up for hours, and he's no good to us cranky, so DeAndra offered to let him snuggle on the on-call shoulder.

"Hey you! Where the deuce is my chocolate milk?"
After an exhilarating shift, he likes to sit in his chair and overlook the back 40.

Scheming with Rock

The older our little guy gets, the more I'm realizing how crafty he can be. Just look at these eyes, tell me that he isn't cooking up some hijink or shenanigan.
I'm still not sure what he was planning here, but those eyes sure look shifty.
One of his latest schemes was to try and trick DeAndra into letting him drive the car. He put on my shoes and stomped around the kitchen while DeA was in the bathroom. Then he tried to talk in his best baritone 'Aaron' voice and ask where the keys were. She wasn't buying what he was selling, probably because he can't talk yet.

He doesn't just limit his plans to DeAndra and I, lately he tried to pull one on the local golf course. Seems that all the local courses prohibit outside beverages, and Rock is not a fan of that fascist policy. He tried to sneak his cold one into his golf bag, but had trouble fitting the Big Gulp into his junior sized bag.

Like all good conmen, Rock has an excuse and story for everything! First he tries to smile his way out of things.

Then he starts to lay on the charm and tell a long drawn out story about how it couldn't have been his fault that the bananas ended up on the couch. Can you tell who he is trying to frame for this?

But I don't want anyone walking away from this thinking that we don't discipline the little bugger. We make him clean up the messes from his projects, like this one where he tried to spill all of the plain milk to make his mommy bust out the chocolate stuff.

Rock and Rufus in Training

Ransacking season in the villages is almost here, so Rock and Rufus have been training hard. They want to be on the top of their game when they can finally pillage and burn to maximize their pillaging. The latest technique that they have been practicing is the back ride.
In this maneuver, Rufus flies low and burns the villages, while Rock rides backwards so that he can spot the best pillaging spots.

The results were encouraging and so they were very happy. The villagers weren't quite as happy.
They also had improvisation training. This is where they practice making weapons and tools out of household items. Rock's first assignment was to use my shoes and create a weapon. He created the arm shoes, that way he can kick your butt from all four limbs.
The reflective material helps warn people at night that he is present, that way there are no excuses when he pounces on them like a stealthy ninja.

He also toyed with the strategy of incorporating a broom into his repertoire. That way he can kick your butt and sweep the floor with you at the same time. Brutally awesome.
