Rockdacious!!

Just going to put up a couple of pictures of Rock. Aunt Marissa has been here since Thursday night spoiling him and sleeping in until noon each day. Marissa was supposed to land in Moline (which is ten minutes away) at 6pm, but instead she calls me in the middle of class saying that her flight was canceled. Being the great brother that I am, I decided to drive and get her instead of making her spend the night in the airport in Chicago. So, after loading Rock and DeAndra into the car we take off for Chicago (2 1/2 hours away!). Lucky for us, and Marissa, uncle Steve snagged Marissa at the airport on his way home and took her to his house. Once there, Kelli fed and clothed the little weary traveler and the boys entertained her with their Alvin and the Chipmunks impersonations until we arrived. Here are some awesome pictures of baby Rock doing his thing. I threw in a picture of him yawning, just to let people see the little guy in his natural setting.

Rockzinio!!

Our tiny hero went through one of his toughest tests up to this point in his little life. Today he had his two month doctor appointment. It started off well, he got to strip naked and show of his chiseled abs to all the nurses that cared to look (and trust me, they cared to look!) and be weighed and measured. The numbers: 12lbs 6oz, 22 3/8 inches long. In case you don't have the conversion chart in front of you, that puts him in the light bantamweight division for the time being. I think it's a good weight division for him, it allows him to pummel the crap out of his opponents with his tiny lethal fist of fury with more precision than if he were a middle featherweight. Anyways, then Mommy let the doctor play the popular game "Pretend Rock is a Pincushion" with Rock's meaty, ample thighs. He didn't mind the game at first, and then he realized that Mommy wasn't playing fair! It was only a one way game; he didn't get to poke the doctor back! He was furious! Lucky for the doctor, he happened to know that Rock's kryptonite is cute little band-aids of dinosaurs. It's not so much a kryptonite that makes him weak like Superman's kryptonite, it's more like he doesn't feel like destroying doctors with his lethal ninja moves when he looks so darn adorable.

Here's a picture of his game face.

The other day Rock got to attend Lily's birthday party with some of his peeps. Here's Connor laying a game plan down with Rock on how they were going to pick up the ladies.
Here's Rock hanging out with PW Cheeks Noorda. Adorable.
Oh yeah, she's captive to his spell.
Here's Rock with the birthday girl Lily. She loves the plastic cup that Rock took credit for giving her. She also is susceptible to the magnetism exuding from Rock. Mommy calls that magnetism 'doodies' when she changes the diaper.

Rockarino!!

The little guy already misses all the attention that he received this last week. When I put him down he looks up at me with these eyes that say "What? I'm too cute to be on the ground! I'm adorable! LOVE ME!!" And I have to admit that I feel guilty looking down at him with his big cute blue-ish eyes. But after I put the burp rag over his face and cover his eyes I don't feel as guilty.
Rock has decided that he loves being happy at 4:30 in the morning lately. DeAndra has decided that she doesn't love being awake at 4:30am. I decided that I like to pretend that I'm sleeping and can't hear a thing at 4:30am.
These first pictures are of the little guy in the shirt that his aunt Whitni made him. Adorable.

Tiny little fists of fury!! These are what I will unleash if you don't pick me up and love me!!

Rock is having a pretty good week. Of course he is, the little guy has been put down for about 13 seconds all week. I'm a little worried that he is going to get spoiled with all this attention and by being held all the time. But whenever anyone goes near my mom while she's holding Rock she seems to growl and glare you down. It's been great having them here, they've helped out a whole lot and made life very nice and easy. Well, nice and easy for me. But I'm not the one that still has to breast feed and all that fun stuff. But it's been nice. DeAndra is very excited because she is getting closer and closer to her trip to Oregon. We are getting down to less than two months until she gets to go to Oregon and get as crazy spoiled as Rock is getting this week.

Rock-tacular Blowout!!

Today was Rock's big day, his blessing day! He got all dressed up in his little suit with his little tie. He looked like a little lady killer, and he played the part. Let me tell you, the ladies were all upons. He behaved himself like a little gentleman, right up until everyone said amen. As soon as we finished the blessing, he let out a little trumpet salute to everyone. It was pretty awesome. There's such a small window of opportunity to be able to let it fly in church, I'm glad that he has taken advantage of that opportunity.

Hey Marissa, eat your heart out!! Love, Whitni

Rock-a-docious!!

Today is Rock's seventh birthday!! He really wanted to go to the zoo for his birthday, so he and Connor (who was having his fourth birthday also!) loaded us up in the car and made us take them to the Niabi Zoo. Here's a picture of the little guys being overjoyed by the sight of the emus. The emus were located in this little "Aussie Walk" where you got to walk on a path through the habitat that they share with the wallabies. DeAndra was dying to get to see the wallabies. "If I don't get to see the wallabies then somebody will die!" is what she kept on saying. Well, we start walking through the habitat, and there is this cute little wallaby sitting there looking up at us. She pulled out the camera to take a picture, and the little guy took off out of the water and went hopping away. Well, it scared the bejeeberz out of DeAndra, who almost peed her pants and then tried to use the baby stroller (with Rock still strapped in it) as a shield. Then this friendly emu tried to say hello to her, and she made sure to keep her baby in position to be used as a human shield.
We finally escaped from the 'terrifying' little wallabies and 'filthy emus' and went to the primate section. We found a new babysitter for Rock! He seems nice enough, but doesn't like people talking back to him. Not even me.

And then Rock got to pose with his new little friend. We call him Simba. It's an original name, we didn't copy it from anything so stop trying to think if you've heard it before.

Here's some picture from Rocks recent adventure as a free range baby. DeAndra put him on the bed for a little bit to enjoy going 'commando'. Then I got into bed later and couldn't figure out why my feet were moist and warm. DeAndra claimed that she couldn't think of any reason that would be. I guess it's just one of those little mysteries of having children.

After his long day of going to the zoo and getting ready for his blessing day on Sunday, Rock still takes time to sit back and watch the Mariner's game in his underwear. He's still working on his scratching, but his burping and 'wind breaking' are coming along great.
And finally, here is a video of Rock laughing. Precious.
