Summer Winding Down

There aren't many good weekends left to play in the lake. This Saturday was a great one, hot and the lake isn't freezing.
Rock got to go shooting in Oregon with Uncle Derek and he developed a taste for pistols. We shot my 9mm and .45.
Ryker wanted to make an apple crisp with the galas that were just turning ripe. He recruited some helpers.

Gma and Gpa spent a weekend in Stehekin, we surprised them by picking their giant weeds in front of the flower bed. Leo was not a big help, he didn't pull a single weed.
Sometimes Leo likes to lay still and rest. Usually the kids leave him alone, but other times they smother him with hugs.
DeA doesn't like it when I go golfing, but she does like when I take the kids for a few hours. This was the natural compromise.
Last year we toured the homestead of DeA's great-great-great-grandparents. They gave out a sour cream cookie recipe, and DeA finally decided to give them a try. They were awesome, like a cakey snickerdoodle.
Evening walks have been a great way to end our days.
