Rock's Training

We have a lot of fun watching Rock around the house. It is really interesting to watch him go through little phases and fads. His latest pet interest has been self improvement. He recently watched a documentary on Benjamin Franklin and heard ol' Ben say "God helps them that help themselves" and decided to help himself. He started by working on his art skills. He likes to do abstract art, since there are always wacko yuppies with money that buy crap like that.
While reading Ted William's biography he stumbled across the fact that the Splendid Splinter would hit over 100 baseballs a day while in his youth. This is what helped him have one of the best swings in baseball history, second only to this guy. Rock knows it will take lots of swings to become the best, so he has started young.

Since all signs point to Rock being slightly shorter than average, I've started to introduce him to the works of Barry Sanders. For those of you unfamiliar with Mr. Sanders' work, here is a little sampling:
Awesome Barry Sanders

Rock loves carrying to football, but he prefers to practice the fumble drill. He'll hand the football to me, I roll it across the room and he chases it down.
Always a supporter of the constitution, Rock tries to exercise his second amendment right around the house. The thing is, while the constitution might grant him the right to gun play, the house rules czar named Mommy doesn't like him playing with live ammo or real guns. So, he found another gun in the house and is practicing with that one. I left him alone with it for one minute and found him with the gun plugged in and the barrel heating up. He said it was warm from the lead that he'd pumped into the bad guys.
Winston Churchill was probably the kind of man that wore a hat. That is why his was kind of a big deal. Rock knows that the distinguished gentleman wears a hat with confidence and strength.
If only he knew how long its been since I've washed that hat...
Someone that Rock looks up to and respects has taught him the importance of getting lots of sleep.
Thankfully for DeA, he's finally started to apply that lesson.

  1. I am so glad that Rock is sleeping better. I don't know how he can handle any more beauty sleep, though. He's absolutely adorable as he is.
