Goodbye to Davenport

It's been a pretty busy week, so lets recap:

On October 15th we accepted an offer on our house! They wanted to close the day after I took national board exams, so we were really excited!
On October 16th (three years to the day that we bought the house) we found out that there was a fairly good chance that we were going to have to hook up to the city sewer line. The rough estimate from the sewer guy was about $8000, so we weren't really excited.
Rock and DeAndra went around Davenport to say goodbye to some of their loved ones, and not so loved ones. First, they went to tell Palmer thank you for making me stay at school for a long time. If there's one thing DeA likes, it's her Aaron-free time.
Rock went to Modern Woodman Park to say goodbye to the first professional park that he ever visited. He also said goodbye to the annoying locusts by giving them Bifenthrin as a goodbye gift.
No goodbye tour would be complete without eating just one more delicious Culver's Oreo and Caramel Concrete. Mmm...so sticky.
Rock had the hardest time saying goodbye to Uncle Whitey. Whitey's has been there since his beginning, and he's not sure what he'll do without their delicious rootbeer malts.
Perhaps the hardest goodbye came from the ladies in the ward. Even though Rock is currently promised to a committed relationship with Macey, the gals in the ward didn't want to give up hope. Justine Peterson felt that she couldn't let Rock leave without letting him know her real feelings. Rock was torn.
His mommy gave him some serious advice: "There's nothing wrong with boosting the self-esteem of a girl that you'll never see again by giving her kisses." I didn't say that it was good advice, but it's what she said.

His mom's advice aside, Rock didn't feel right about leading poor little Justine on like that, so he let her down gently.
She didn't seem to have any problems moving on.
One of the last things that Rock said goodbye to was his house. He may never see his first house again, and he hid his sorrow in a delicious Jonagold.
Monday Rock and DeAndra flew out to Medford so that I could finish packing and cleaning the house. One of the biggest projects was finding out why the bathtub wasn't draining. I think I figured it out.
While I was elbow deep in DeA's hairballs, Rock was sitting and chilling in Oregon.
Finally after packing and cleaning, packing, cleaning, cleaning and packing Aaron Young and Jeff Turner helped me load the truck. Dad flew into Moline to help me drive this brand new, sparkling white Penske all the way to Oregon.
I'm glad that they gave me a truck that won't hide a single scratch, because moving just wouldn't be the same without the constant worrying that you will scratch the truck. We stopped in Utah at Sherry's to see my siblings (minus Lindz) and then kept rolling. We left Davenport at about 10am and drove across Iowa and Nebraska in the daylight. You know the funny thing about Iowa and Nebraska? You drive through Iowa and you think that there is no way that anything could be flatter...then you hit Lincoln and realize that you were oh-so-wrong. We finally stumbled onto the Judd Homestead at about 1:30 am Friday morning.

Today I woke up at 6am to check my part 3 board scores and the stupid, dumb, worthless website didn't want to show the scores. I wasn't really happy.

At about 3pm the website finally worked, and I passed!! I was really happy.
As I saw my board scores I noticed that I had a message from our realtor about the house, and I wasn't excited.

At 3:01 I called the realtor and she told me that the septic tank passed inspection! We were excited and blessed!!!
So, I guess we are officially moved to Oregon. You will notice corresponding changes in the name of the blog and other random items.

If you made it through all of that boring writing, then I would like to reward you. Please click here to receive your prize.
